Non-Bookish News:

wedding2Monday is my 12 year wedding anniversary! I can’t believe its been 12 years! We got married in Las Vegas and it was one of the best decisions ever. I didn’t have to plan anything! Plus, as a person who suffers with OCD, having lots of people watch me would have been an nightmare! (My parents were there-they made a little vacation out of it as well!) PS-yes, my hair curls like that all on its own. I don’t do anything to it. Everyone always asks!

Last Sunday we visited the lot we want to purchase and it was perfect!! However, a whole week has gone by and we still haven’t heard from the builder. Sigh…

Tomorrow at work I have to give a presentation to the faculty. I am so nervous! I hate talking in front of people, and because of my OCD, I assume everyone is talking trash about me. I know its irrational but I can’t stop the obsessive thoughts. So, once I get through Monday, hopefully things will get better. I am on anxiety meds for my OCD, but when stuff like this comes up, its always too much for my meds to handle! Thankfully, one of my coworkers is presenting with me and she knows my OCD issues well. She has been very supportive and has not made me feel bad about my obsessive needs regarding our presentation.

Once the presentation is over and my anxiety calms down to normal, I am super excited to dig into the ARCs I got this week!!! These are some of my favorite authors and I am beyond excited!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Congrats on your 12 year wedding anniversary! That’s awesome you’ve been married for that long! That’s nice you got married like that without much planning, that sounds great. Your hair is pretty! And that’s awesome it curls like that on it’s own!

I hope your presentation goes well, presentations always makes me anxious as well. That’s great you have a supportive coworker who knows about your OCD. I hope you’ll have a great week!

  2. Happy Anniversary and I hope everything works out with the builders. How exciting! And wow! What a fantastic haul of books! Good luck with your presentation and kudos to your coworker for the support:)

  3. Wow, happy anniversary! And I completely get your decision to get married in Vegas instead of having a big ceremony. And yay about finding the lot you want! But oh no about not hearing back yet :-/ Keep your fingers crossed!

Sorry about having to give a presentation. I don’t have a problem speaking in front of people now, but I used to have a big fear of it, and I can imagine how much harder it must be for you. I’m sure you’ll do great though! But everyone has different fears and anxieties, so it’s totally understandable. Just keep thinking about the awesome ARCs you’ll get to read afterward 😀

    • Thanks! Yes, my wedding was perfect for me. But I always tell people its not for everyone. If you are a girl who has dreamed about your wedding since you were a kid, Vegas is not for you!
Thanks for the support! I have gotten a great deal better about public speaking over the years. In college I used to have full blown panic attacks before giving a presentation. Thankfully its just my coworkers and I have been working with them for 4 years now so I feel a bit more comfortable. Although I woke up this morning with a pimple which will make me super self conscious! 🙂

  4. Oh my what a fabulous book haul. I just discovered N.J. Walters and Loved Wolf on a Mission, so now I’ve got her who series on my TBR and will be picking it up. I am so a big fan of JAW – Devil in the Deep is on my TBR too. I can’t wait to read it even though book one was just so so for me, but her Black Knights Inc. is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Thank’s for stopping by my blog. Congratulations on your Wedding Anniversary.

    • I just discovered her as well! I snagged a few books in the series already! I haven’t read any JAW books yet! Devil in the Deep will be my first! I will have to check out Black Knights!!

  5. Happy anniversary, Samantha! I hope you’ll have many, many more 🙂
I’ll send you calming, confident thoughts for your presentations, I’m sure you’ll do well, but it must still suck to be so anxious about it in advance.
Your new books look fantastic! Have a great week and happy reading.

  6. Happy Anniversary, girlie!! You are such a beautiful bride!! Congratulations to you and your hubby <3

Btw – awesome ARCs!!! So freaking jealous!! Although I'm not jealous of the pressure of reading them all – yikes!!! And yes, I hate when people don't call me back, too! I'm dealing with the same thing with a cake guy right now!!!

HUGS on anxiety… You can do the presentation, no problem!!!

    • Awww thanks!!
Yes, I am so thrilled about these ARCs it will NOT be a challenge to get them read at all! I will have them done in no time because I am excited!
