Non-Bookish News:
I hope y’all had a Merry Christmas! It was low key for me and my husband. We went to visit my parents for a few hours, I attempted to show them how to work their kindle, then we came home. Saturday we went to see Star Wars. I really enjoyed it!
I am off work until January 4th so I plan to read a lot. I also need to clean my house! Yikes!! With New Year’s coming, I am wondering how many of you make resolutions? Every year I always say “This will be the year I…” but what I really lack is motivation, drive, and follow through! Sigh. I really want to lose weight but I have no self control. But, every year I say “This is the year!”. Maybe 2016 will be the year!
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!
A very low-key Christmas! You know, I think I prefer that. I have come to accept my weight. Yes, I’d like to loose the weight down to what I was after I was misdiagnosed with cancer (I’ll take 170!), but I have read sporadically about weight loss. For my family, it really is genetics. You can tell by the metabolism of the men vs. the women, as well as their weights and sizes. I also found out my grandmother had a thyroid issue, which plays a big role, as well as imbalances of hormones (testosterone, estrogen and progesterone)…and it seems many of the women in my family also have this struggle.(I’ve also read the amount of vitamin D you have also plays a large factor in weight loss.) I am trying to eat more moderately, and when the man is home we go on 3.5 mile walks with the dogs each day, and I noticed I could fit comfortably in pants I couldn’t before. (Of course, he looks like a bodybuilder and goes to the gym daily.) Find whatever you are happy with! I hope you have a wonderful new year!
Yes, I actually have a thyroid disorder and am on medication (have been for years), plus genetically I am not blessed either. Its like I have every strike against me (I have been heavy since I was 7 or 8!). I lost about 45 lbs last summer and its slowly creeping back up. So, I need to get back on my routine of counting calories and sticking to it!
Some time off sounds super good! Enjoy (play some loud music to make the cleaning more fun!)

Thanks for stopping by! And yes, I certainly need to crank up the music to clean. However, that usually leads to me singing and my dogs are NOT fans! #Haters!
Low key is perfect! It was just the four of us this year, and even though we are use to a HUGE gathering at Christmas, I think I much preferred this one with just the 4 of us! & I am off work for awhile too, so I will be reading right along with you! Thanks for stopping by the blog && I will be checking back here often to see what you have in store!
I’m pro low-key Christmas! The week before Christmas was crazy but on Christmas Day I had nothing to do so my son and I stayed in our pajamas and we all just laid around, played video games, and put together a lot of Legos. My husband is off until the first week of January as well and we’re tackling projects around the house that we never have time for normally. It’s exhausting but it is good to have them done. I usually make resolutions but I think I did really terrible at them this year! I’d like for next year to be a little more focused so I’m sure I’ll try again. Have a great week and a happy New Year!
Hi! I am totally with you on the “lack motivation” part. I always have resolutions to more active in blogging, to lose weight, to learn a new language etc, but all those seemed to fail miserably though. It’s time to start rethinking about my strategy in fulfilling new years resolution. Probably I should start with baby steps, hmmm… You seemed to have such a productive week and hope you are able to stay true to your 2016 resolutions! Thank you for stopping by my blog and Merry Belated Christmas! 🙂
