This Week’s New Releases:

Non-Bookish News:

Well, we officially moved into the house! It was also my last week of work before summer break. So, to say it was a little busy is an understatement. It was overwhelmingly busy! But, now I have all summer to setting into the house and unpack. I won’t be online much today because my parents are visiting! Also, my younger brother and my husband are finishing moving a few things that we had in storage.

My students and I finished the school year strong! It was touch and go there for a bit though. They finished their exams on Wednesday, then Thursday we had graduation mass and awards, and then Friday evening was graduation! I will still have to administer the ACT in June, then I have to teach a test prep class to some 8th graders at the beginning of August. But, I will have all of July to myself!

We are creating a ‘library’ in the new house. One of the rooms is going to have bookshelves and a comfy reading chair and it will be my library. I am super excited. Its gonna be filled with all things bookish!

What are your summer reading goals? I’m not even sure what mine will be, so I am looking for some inspiration! I will probably want to make some progress on my #ReadMyOwnDamnBooks goal since I have hundreds of unread books on my kindle!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Congrats on the move, Samantha! I’m glad you’ve managed everything this past week – last week of school plus moving must have been exhausting!
YAY for your library. I want one of those, too. I even think I actually deserve to have a library 😀
You should join COYER for this summer! It’s a challenge where you read your own (or library) books – most of the time there are some strict rules, but for this summer there are no rules – it runs from June 18th through September 2nd (or 3rd??) and it’s a lot of fun. You can combine it with reading your own damned books – and also be a part of the community where we cheer each other on like nobody’s business.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

  2. Oh, creating one room as the library, complete with comfy chair, sounds like one of my wishes! I don’t have the space now, but I do have one room that is an office/guest room, and there are a couple of bookshelves. My other bookshelves are throughout the house, encircling me.

Enjoy settling in and your days off. Your new books look very tempting! Thanks for visiting my blog!

  3. Yay that your move went well and to being on Summer break! You’ll have to share pics of your library once you have it set up. We are moving in a few weeks to a townhouse and hope to be able to buy a home next year. A library is on my list of things I want 😀 Hope you have a great week!

  4. Yay, how awesome that you’ve finally made the move. AND OHMYGOODNESS YOU’RE GOING TO HAVE A LIBRARY! I am so incredibly jealous! It sounds like it’s going to be amazing, and you better take some pictures once it’s all set up so we can see 😀
