He has a heart of ice...but for her, he'd burn the world.

Alex Volkov is a devil blessed with the face of an angel and cursed with a past he can’t escape.

Driven by a tragedy that has haunted him for most of his life, his ruthless pursuits for success and vengeance leave little room for matters of the heart.

But when he’s forced to look after his best friend’s sister, he starts to feel something in his chest:

A crack.
A melt.
A fire that could end his world as he knew it.

Ava Chen is a free spirit trapped by nightmares of a childhood she can’t remember.

But despite her broken past, she’s never stopped seeing the beauty in the world…including the heart beneath the icy exterior of a man she shouldn’t want.

Her brother’s best friend.
Her neighbor.
Her savior and her downfall.

Theirs is a love that was never supposed to happen—but when it does, it unleashes secrets that could destroy them both…and everything they hold dear.

Twisted Love is a contemporary brother’s best friend/grumpy sunshine romance. It's book one in the Twisted series but can be read as a standalone.

Twisted Love blends lots of tropes and sub genres, and Ana Huang does a really good job crafting a quality story! I don’t often take a chance on a new to me author, but books like Twisted Love remind me I should be more open.

Alex is your grumpy, alpha hero who is cold as ice until Ava. I love the possessive alpha heroes, and he is grumpy too, so it was just a totally hero win. He does straddle the line between hero and anti-hero in my opinion; he isn’t always on the right side or the moral side. I don’t mind that either though. Ava is the only one who can crack the cold that has encased his heart (swoon). They definitely have a bit of the grumpy/sunshine vibe, but Ava isn’t an annoying sunshine. Sometimes, I think heroines are written too happy/perky, but Ava comes off as realistic and optimistic.

Both of them have some dark/tragic issues in their past that help make the story suspenseful. Secrets threaten, and I loved that Ava and Alex pulled together to face them. Twisted Love is swift in its plot and keeps readers intrigued. It is also SUPER sexy ?.
