There’s no such thing as a little in love…
Elle Wheaten’s priorities: friends, career, and kick-ass shoes. Then there’s the muscular wall of stubbornness that’s security expert Archer Hunt—who comes before everything else. No point in telling Mr. “Feels-Free Zone” that, though. Elle will just see other men until she gets over Archer . . . which should only take a lifetime . . .
There’s no such thing as a little in lust…
Archer’s wanted the best for Elle ever since he sacrificed his law-enforcement career to save her. But now that she’s earned happiness and success, Archer just wants Elle 24/7. Their chemistry could start the next San Francisco Earthquake, and Archer doesn’t want to be responsible for the damage. The alternative? Watch her go out with guys who aren’t him . . .
There is such a thing as…
As far as Archer’s concerned, nobody is good enough for Elle. But when he sets out to prove it by sabotaging her dates, she gets mad—and things get hot as hell. Now Archer has a new mission: prove to Elle that her perfect man has been here all along…

I have a rocky history with Jill Shalvis books. I have enjoyed some, and felt very ambivalent about others. So, to say I was hesitant to pick up Accidentally on Purpose would be a fair statement. Thankfully, I gave it a shot, because this was one of enjoyable Shalvis books!

I love the second chance romance between Archer and Elle. Archer’s plans to ruin Elle’s dates…hilarious and awesome! These two had such a complex previous history that you really could understand their behavior. I also appreciate the lack of over the top angst. These characters are mature and while there is the angst with the ‘when will they finally admit their feelings’, its not over done or too much. Personally, I think heroes who go for the heroine HARD are super sexy. Archer was super-duper sexy! The chemistry between these two is great! Elle is a great heroine too. She is smart, strong, independent, and happy with her life! She is the type of woman that others admire because she has worked hard and made something of her life. Seriously, how could you not love both Archer and Elle?

While my history with Shalvis books has been inconsistent, Accidentally on Purpose was no accident! This book has made me feel that maybe the few Shalvis books I picked up in the past were flukes! I can’t wait to read the rest of this series (I haven’t read the books before this one, so I know where to start!

About Jill Shalvis

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jill Shalvis writes warm, funny, sexy contemporary romances and women’s fiction. An Amazon, BN & iBooks bestseller, she’s also a two-time RITA winner and has more than 10 million copies of her books sold worldwide.

Jill lives with her family in a small town in the Sierras full of quirky characters (Any resemblance to the quirky characters in her books is mostly coincidental). She does most of her writing on her deck surrounded by more animals than humans. Which is quite astonishing considering she’s a city girl who was plucked from the wilds of L.A. to the wilds of the Sierra’s. Most of her books come from a combination of hard work, cookies, and hot guy pics, and not necessarily in that order.

Jill often travels to reader weekends & conventions where she LOVES getting to meet and hang-out with readers. The only problem being she tends to get lost in her hotels. So if you ever see NYTimes Bestselling author Jill Shalvis roaming the halls, someone please return her immediately.

Great review! I think you liked this one better than me since Archer and Elle’s back and forth and the games they played bothered me. Still, Shalvis shines with the humor.

    • You know, the back and forth games usually totally bother me, but it didn’t this time. I have no idea why-maybe I just picked it up on a day I was more forgiving…who knows!
