THE RIGHT DRESS CAN CATCH THE EYE OF PRINCE CHARMING…
Felicity Hart has one goal: Completing her masters in art. Falling in love isn’t part of the plan. She reluctantly agrees to attend a Halloween party with her best friend. After sneaking away from the party and falling asleep in an unoccupied room, she wakes to the sexiest pair of eyes she’s ever seen. Eyes that belong to the one man who could turn her well organized world upside down. When he flashes that wicked, panty-melting smile at her the vow to not fall in love seems impossible…
EVERY PRINCE IS LOOKING FOR HIS SLEEPING BEAUTY TO KISS…
Jared Redmond used to be the ultimate bad boy. But now his legal career is taking off and the partners of his firm are trusting him with high-dollar real estate transactions. Jared’s king-size bed is empty. But when he arrives home on Halloween to find a princess sleeping in his bed – his all work and no play attitude goes out the window. There’s nothing he wants more than to explore the hidden desires of this mysterious beauty and show her just how much of a bad boy he really is by fulfilling her every fantasy.
WHEN MIDNIGHT STRIKES AND COACHES TURN TO PUMPKINS…
Underneath the glitter of this fairy tale romance, Felicity and Jared might have found true love. But the mounting pressure of their real lives takes hold again and Jared and Felicity are pulled further and further apart. Can they find their fairy tale ending or will they be left with the dying embers of what could have been?

Legally Charming is a story of opposites attract. Felicity is a studious college student who has been very focused on her studies and not so much on her social life. Jared is a lawyer who is a workaholic with a rock hard body. Felicity is a size 12 and studying art history. They are very different! Their banter seemed immature though. He calls her “princess” and “kid”.  There is attraction between them, but it felt a bit stilted. There is a lot of push/pull between Jared and Felicity. She is planning to move to LA for a job after graduation, he thinks she is too young. It was frustrating at times. Felicity could get a job in Chicago if she wanted. There isn’t anything in LA for her other than a job (her family isn’t there or anything). And, she wasn’t that young. She is in her mid 20’s so Jared’s constant commentary on her youth was irritating. If she were 19 or even 20 to his 30, sure, I could see him making mention of the age difference.

Felicity struggles with accepting that Jared is into her. I can kind of see why at times because he does send some mixed signals. I liked Layla for the most part though. She is a bit naive and idealistic, but it wasn’t annoying. I appreciated that Jared recognized Felicity’s behavior as fear. He is willing to wait her out, and I was glad for that.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how awesome Jared’s ex girlfriend was in this story. So often the exes are catty and mean. Shana actually encourages Jared to make a play for Felicity. Even though she still has feelings for him, she tells him to go for it. Hooray for portraying a girl who isn’t a catty bitch!

While the angst comes from the push/pull between Jared and Felicity, I ended up smiling and sighing contentedly at the end.

  1. Yayyy for a non-psycho ex! I feel like that trope is really played out. It’s refreshing when the ex isn’t causing trouble and is actually a supportive person. I really like that they are so different and Felicity doesn’t have the typical “perfect” body. This sounds like one I may enjoy! Great review

    • Yes, this book was unique in several really important ways! Like I said, the only thing I didn’t really care for was his constant commentary on how young she was, when she wasn’t that young at all! Otherwise, good book!
