Today seems like a good day to reflect. I have read SO MANY books in my life that sometimes I forget what I have read. Looking back at goodreads is a good start, even though honestly, I started reading long before I started tracking on GR!
Jessica’s Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey: 4 stars
“I love this book! Its witty, funny, and fun. Like twilight, but funnier. A quick read that was fun-pure and simple! Can’t wait to share it with my students. I think the girls will love it!”
Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick: 4 stars
“so cute! Another one I can’t wait to share with my students! Well written, engaging from beginning to end, and its a series (which I LOVE!). Its in the same genre as twilight, so the kids who liked that will enjoy hush, hush.”
Anna and the French Kiss: DNF
“I just could NOT get into this story at all. I didn’t care for Anna or Etienne. Both were immature and annoying”
Providence by Jamie McGuire: 4 stars (I gave the rest of the series 5 stars)
“What a wonderfully unique and enjoyable story!”
Unloveable by Sherry Gammon: 5 stars
“I love stories with abuse victims so this really worked for me. I also adored both characters”
Taking Chances by Molly McAdams: 0 stars (I’m still mad about this one)
“W the AF?!? Who would like this? This is horrible! GAH”
So, as you can see, I have gotten better about my reviews! I use more words (although sometimes, WTF is all I have…) and explain a bit more in detail. Looking back, I do want to reread some of these and see what I would think today. If you can’t tell, when I first started using goodreads, I was still teaching 8th grade. I loved sharing books with my students. They are the ones who got me to read Twilight, so we often swapped books. I miss those kids something FIERCE!
I will admit that I think Anna and the French Kiss is overhyped (Isla is my favorite of the series by far), but I am surprised you DNFed it. Wow!
I know right?! I just could NOT get into the story at all. I really didn’t like Anna or Etienne at all. I know I am in the minority there (also, I hated Sea of Tranquility and everyone raves about that book too!)
I was just mentioning to Sam (WLABB) this morning that I feel like I belong in the reader hall of shame for never having read Anna & the French Kiss (or the other books in the trilogy). And at this point I’ve basically lost interest.
And sometimes W the AF is just all there is to say. LOL
