A new hockey player to steal your heart this fall...
The dreamiest player on the Moo U hockey team hangs a flyer on the bulletin board, and I am spellbound:
Rent a boyfriend for the holiday. For $25, I will be your Thanksgiving date. I will talk hockey with your dad. I will bring your mother flowers. I will be polite, and wear a nicely ironed shirt…
Everyone knows it’s a bad idea to introduce your long-time crush to your messed-up family. But I really do need a date for Thanksgiving, even if I’m not willing to say why. So I tear his phone number off of that flyer… and accidentally entangle our star defenseman in a ruse that neither of us can easily unwind.
Who knew that Weston's family was even nuttier than mine? He needs a date, too, for the most uncomfortable holiday engagement party ever thrown.
There will be hors d'oeuvre. There will be faked PDA. And there will be pro-level awkwardness…
Boyfriend is a full-length book for Weston and Abbi!
Boyfriend delivers all the swoony sighs, butterflies, and all the gooey love! Weston and Abbi are just delightful. Their fake relationship turned real is like a fairytale and I was loving every minute.
Abbi is insanely hard working and trying to finish college in 3 years, while working to pay for her apartment. Her mom died when she was 18, and things have been difficult. Weston is a hockey God who comes from his own dysfunctional family. Because of his parents, Weston never wants a long term relationship that would lead to marriage. So, you know early on that will be the hurdle for this couple!
These two have tragic stories, but they are so well adjusted (except for the ‘no marriage ever’ thing) and so the story stays light even with the darker events. Bowen does a fantastic job of guiding the read to fall in love with these characters as they fall in love with each other. She is one of my favorite authors for a reason, and Boyfriend is one more example of why! If you want new adult romance that isn’t immature, you will enjoy Boyfriend for sure!

The Dare by Elle Kennedy, The Friend Zone by Kristen Callihan, Blindsided by Victoria Denault…then you will probably like Boyfriend!
I honestly can’t wait to get to this one here. I love this author, but my weakness if the fake relationship trope. I love them. Happy to see that this one was such a win for you here.
I really want to read this one. I have a real fake relationship trope love.
I’m not a huge fan of the fake dating/relationship trope, but I will always make an exception for Sarina Bowen. She never disappoints! 🙂
Bowen is so good at blending heavier elements into her stories without weighing them down too much. I am really excited about this one.
