Enchanted is part of the Masters and Mercenaries series and if you have read the books, you have met our characters, Jared and Sarah. I was a bit confused in the beginning because a lot of reference is made to an event in their past I didn’t know about. I haven’t read all the Masters and Mercenaries books. However, it wasn’t a big deal because the event is tangental to the story presented in Enchanted. Jared and Sarah were ALMOST a thing years ago, but he left. Now he wants her and he knows she is the one for him. Convincing Sarah of that is proving to be very difficult. Jared enlists the help of Big Tag and Charlotte, and of course his brother Kai and his with Kori (who happens to be Sarah’s best friend).
Sarah is not at all what I think of when I think of typical “submissives”. She has a mouth on her and gets pretty snarky! But, her and Jared together were a great pair. Sarah is also dealing with some really heaving personal stuff that had tears streaming down my face for like the last 25% of the story!
Enchanted deals with some heavy material but manages to do it in a way that is engaging and uplifiting! You get some laughs (because seriously there are Taggarts involved), you get some tears, you get seriously hot sex. What more do you want from a Lexi Blake book?
