Meet Kaden Barnes.
Alpha-licious in the most unexpected ways, Kaden Barnes always gets what he wants.
Enigmatic and exacting, he's unable to keep an assistant for long. Until Lexie Parker arrives. She's no-nonsense, efficient and all business… She’s also hot as sin and soon starring in Kaden's dirtiest fantasies.
When their passion for each other reaches a boiling point, Kaden may think he’s calling the shots, but for this billionaire bad boy, going down easy has never felt so good.
Going Down Easy
Carly Phillips
I have read many a Phillips book over the years. I have enjoyed her Dare series and was excited for this new series, starting with book one, Going Down Easy!
Lexie needs a job. She has taken over the responsibility of caring for her bipolar sister and needs an income, fast. Kaden needs an assistant because he is a beast of a man to work for and has run all the previous ones off! The problem? Kade thinks Lexie is HOT and its distracting.
I loved Kaden and his business partners. They are smart and fun! Lexie is very likable as well-she has given up so much to take care of her sister and her sister isn’t always grateful (understatement!). You get some good witty banter between these two because she is not easily scared off by his gruff exterior. You also get some really steamy moments as expected from Phillips!
The book touches upon several different mental health topics and I thought Phillips did a great job of showing how different mental illnesses affect daily life. It wasn’t over done or over-explained; it was just part of the story and it felt really natural. I think all of us can relate to mental health issues because everyone knows someone who struggles!
Going Down Easy is one of those books that remind me why I love this genre. Its well written, the characters are rounded, the dialogue is great, and you are satisfied in the end.

Beneath Broken by CP Pinard, Wasted Words by Staci Hart, Craze by Anne Conley…then you will probably like Going Down Easy!

I haven’t read anything from this author, but I’ve been meaning to. I think this is a great place for me to start. You know how much I like banter and steam. Poor girl though. Her unappreciative sister would annoy me so much!
I love that the mental health illness aspects were handled so well.
I can’t wait to check it out!
Wonderful review! 🙂
