In other news…
This past week was busy for me! I had parent teacher conferences which makes for a long day at work. Then Thursday I came home from work to find the dogs had knocked down the gate and got into the kitchen and the trash. Sadly, this is not the first time they have done something like this. However, around 1 am that night, they started to get sick. Calleigh (the smaller brown and white dog in the picture) remained very ill and around 11 am Friday I finally called the vet. We took her in and they feared she had an obstruction. After x rays and ultrasounds, they didn’t find anything. So, they kept her on IV fluids and gave lots of meds. We were able to bring her home Friday night. So, Saturday was spent cooking rice for the dogs since its all they are allowed to eat for the weekend. Thankfully, both are just fine now! Sadly, my wallet is NOT! I have 1 more full week of work before Thanksgiving break and I am excited to have time to read more books!! What are you all looking forward to?
oh no! sorry to hear about your doggies, that’s never fun. I am glad to hear you were able to bring her home.
Thanks! Yes, she is totally fine now! She loves to get into things so this isn’t our first scare!
One of my patients at work was always complaining about the $1000 paper towel her dog ate one time. O_o I’m glad they’re both okay though! Enjoy your week!
Yes, this was a $700 trash buffet! Stinkers!
Your puppies are so cute. Have you tried putting the can on the counter or in the bathroom with the door closed. I know you have probably figured something out by now. So sorry to hear about your pups getting sick. I have invested so much money in my Buster, but that was due to something unrelated. It put me really behind financially, but what could I do? I ope you enjoy your break. My kids and Miguel have off that week, but I don’t. 🙁
Thanks! We have tried just about everything! The gate we have is 4 feet high and has a double locking mechanism. They still managed to get through it. They have figured out how to push on a door just right to get it to open so we have put hook and eye closers on all the doors to lock them up tighter when we leave. They are too smart for their own good!
When we first adopted Yoda, the bigger one, we found out he had heart worms. That was a very expensive treatment! Thankfully he is healthy now. But I know exactly how you feel about getting behind financially because of it! That was a tough bill to get!
Omg that’s terrible about your dogs!! And must be so frustrating. 0-0 My little dog is NOTORIOUS for getting into trouble..gahhhh. He has bad anxiety and if we have too many guests he’ll chew his foot bloody and get infections. Silly little thing.
Yay for an upcoming break and holiday though!! 😀 We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in Australia, but I DO have American relatives so we’re kinda having a turkey or something, hehe.
Thanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury!
Ay ay ay … the trouble dogs get into. Glad they’re fine, though. It’s scary because they can’t tell us what hurts or what they’re feeling. Hopefully they don’t pull that stunt again. 🙂
Oh my! So sorry about your dogs!! I am glad they are better now.It is so hard with pets when they are sick. You wish you knew what would make them better! Hope you have a great week!!
Sorry you had such sucky P/T Conferences. Mine are this week. So far, it’s not off to a good star, either. Like you, I’m excited to have next week off for Thanksgiving. I’m also excited we only have a few weeks until Winter Break. Huzzah!
Glad to hear your dogs are doing better. Hopefully it’s a sign this week will be better for you. Have a great week!
I love the name of Calleigh. I’m so sorry that happened to her but glad to know she is feeling better. Both of them must be eating that rice with so much joy haha Have a good week!
