Non-Bookish News:

I got the flu!! Last weekend I had a little cough last weekend, but nothing major. Then all the sudden, Tuesday night, things got BAD. I was dizzy, my heart was racing, I was coughing so hard I was afraid I was going to pass out, my head hurt like it was about to explode, and in less than an hour, I had used 2 entire rolls of toilet paper blowing my nose. So, my husband comes home from work and I say “I think you should take me to urgent care. Or the ER. Somewhere where someone can help me”. So, we get to urgent care and they do the flu test and 15 minutes later I am the newest Influenza B patient. I also have a respiratory infection. So, I left with a prescription for Tamaflu, an antibiotic for the infection, and codeine cough syrup. What was really awful was I didn’t start to feel any better at all until Saturday. I have never been sick for that long and it was miserable. People, I was too sick to read!!!

So, of course, I wasn’t able to go to work all week. Next week we have state testing and I have 5 IEP meetings! Hopefully I am back to 100% or this week is going to suck.

April 1st was my 2 year blogiversary! I can’t believe its been that long and yet it also feels like I have been doing thing way longer!

I have been binge watching Investigation Discovery. Pretty much, if its on that channel, I watch it! Vanity Fair Confidential, Las Vegas Law, and Betrayed are some of my favorites. Next week there is a Casey Anthony documentary releasing that I am super excited for! I’m such a true crime buff!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. So sorry to hear you were smitten – people talk all the time about having had the ‘flu, but normally they are talking about a heavy cold. When my daughter was 18 months old both my husband and I were struck down at the same time and had the doc come out – I had to call my mother to drive 60 miles to come and get her as I couldn’t physically look after her. So you have my profound sympathy – I know only too well just how ill you must have felt and I’m glad you are now feeling better – and yes… I can believe you felt too ill to read. Hope this coming week is a much better one. My Sunday Post – https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2017/04/02/sunday-post-2nd-april-2017/

  2. Happy blog anniversary! Two years is awesome! I am so sorry though to hear you are sick. 🙁 I can just imagine how stressed you must feel on top of it with testing this coming week. I’m thinking of you and sending good health vibes your way!

I thought the Pentatonix video was very well done–and yes powerful. Thank you for sharing. Fiona is so adorable. 🙂 Love the look of all your new books! I hope you enjoy them.

Have a much better week, Samantha!

  3. I’m so sorry you’ve been so sick with the flu! I hope you’re feeling much better, and that next week will be OK at work, even with all your meetings and the state testing.
You got some truly fantastic books to help cheer you up and make you feel better, though 😉
Happy 2-year blogoversary, I feel like I’ve known you for longer 😀
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

  4. Oh man, sorry to hear that you’ve been so sick! That’s awful! My daughter was really sick for a while too. I think it was the flu. She had a fever for 6 days straight, was complaining of body aches, coughing, post-nasal drip, all of it! She was so miserable. I felt so bad. She’s doing a lot better now. Just a lingering cough but her nose seems to be drying up. Happy blogiversary, hope you start to feel 100% soon, and I hope you have a great week!

  5. Congrats on your blogoversary! Sorry to hear you were so sick though, ugh. That must have been tough. Hope this week is better and you’re feel better soon.

Investigation Discovery sounds fun. I like stuff like that.

  6. Happy Blogoversary. Sorry you’ve been so ill. That Tamaflu really helps but you have to suffer those first three days if you’re already down with the flu. I hope you feel better soon and can enjoy those lovely books. That hippo is such a darling!

  7. Oh boo! The flu is so awful and that is a long time to be sick!! Hope you get to 100% for work since it sounds busy. I am interested in that Casey Anthony documentary too. Happy blogoversary!!! Hope ou enjoy your new books and have a great week!

  8. Oh no, so sorry to hear you’ve been down with the flu. That is sooo miserable. I’ve only had the flu once and I hope to never have it again. Hopefully by now you’re much better. And happy blogoversary! I celebrated my 2 year blogoversary last week, as well. (Actually I was a little late but whatever.) I’ve been meaning to start that Abbie Roads series for ages and just haven’t got to it yet.
