This Week’s New Releases:

What I Found Online:

Ugh I didn’t find anything! I was so wrapped up in being busy and cranky I was a terrible blog visitor! So, anyone got something I need to check out?!?! Hit me up!

This Week’s Book Haul:

I obviously have a problem. I should be banned from netgalley and someone should prescreen my emails. But, look at the pretties….I’m so excited! Thanks to the authors and publishers for feeding my addiction!

Non-Bookish News:

Oh it was so busy at school this week. I had a million things that everyone wanted done right away and it was the last week of the semester for my students, so they are all scrambling to get everything finished, study for all their tests, etc and I am hustling around behind them to make sure they are on track and organized. My principal sent out an email to the teachers about the homework policy and EVERYONE had to give their two cents. Except instead of just hitting reply and sending their thoughts to the principal, they hit reply all so I got dozens of emails with teachers complaining at everything under the sun. That kind of stuff really gets to me. Even if I don’t open the emails, just knowing that people are bitching and arguing with each other makes me stressed. Needless to say, I am already starting the countdown to June. This school year has just been too much!

My only hope of salvation (a day off) this time of year is snow days. We don’t have spring break until the last week of April. But, its been in the 50’s-60’s here so no snow days in sight. That is also making everyone sad and depressed!

It has rained for like 4 days straight. My back yard is a muddy, puddle filled mess. Every time we let the dogs out, Calleigh stops at the edge of the deck and then carefully plots her path so as to not get so dirty. Yoda goes blazing out the door and runs at full speed, digging in his paws with ever step, and runs to every puddle and standing water area in our 1/2 acre yard. I have refused to mop the floor in the kitchen until it stops raining. Its just a wasted effort. The worst is when he comes in and, before I can wipe his paws and legs off, runs to our bedroom and hops on our bed! Then the bed is covered in muddy paw prints. Yoda is just happy as a pig in mud though!

My computer arrived! They weren’t able to repair the screen on the original one, so they had to give me another brand new one. Its all set up now (which takes forever!) so hopefully there won’t be any issues. I’m a little nervous though. So far, there are lots of complaints and problems with this new line of MacBooks. My plan was to sell my older MacBook air, but now I am nervous to let it go in case something happens with this new one again! But, I really need the money I could get for my old MacBook so I am going to have to take the risk. I have a laptop from work, plus now I have 3 iPads (a mini that used to belong to my husband, a 3rd gen that school gave me, and now the new iPad air that my school gave me when they upgraded), so if anything happens, I have a multitude of back ups.

Last weekend my husband and his friend were installing our gas stove. I am happy to say all went well! It works, our carbon monoxide detector hasn’t gone off, and everything seems to be working properly! YAY!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Your haul looks very romantic! I need to investigate some of those to see if anything piques my interest. Ugh the complaining at the school. I would be in a sour mood too if I were reading bummer emails like that. Hopefully you get one or two snow days though!
    Happy reading and take care!

  2. Sorry this week wasn’t the best for you. This school year has been so crazy for you. I hope it settles down and you get the snow day you deserve! 🙂 I could use a snow day too. I just want one day to not have to go to work, I wish I had MLK Birthday off but we don’t.

My dog is not a fan of the rain but he loves the snow. He loves to stick his entire head in the snow, then his face is all covered plus his feet get so squishy, he’s very fluffy so he absorbs water especially in the rain.

I hope you have a great week, Samantha! Happy Reading! ox

    • Oh gosh I don’t know what we would do if Yoda was fluffy!! Thankfully he isn’t! I hope you get a snow day too! Its the best part of teaching 🙂

  3. Sorry to hear about all the bitching at work. That just sucks. Maybe you should send out a mass email on “replying to mass emails etiquette” lol. I hope things calm down for you. We haven’t been getting as much snow here either, We had a bunch of snow over the weekend, and then it rained and washed it all away. I hate that. MY dog goes right for the puddles outside. He hates baths though, I wish he figured out the correlation. All of your new books look good. I hope you find time to read them all. Have a great week!

    • Oh my gosh I SOOOO wanted to respond with “you do realize you are hitting respond all and everyone is seeing your email”. Yoda hates baths too. He refuses to even get close to the bathroom. We have to hose him down outside and it takes 2 of us!

  4. Ha ha nice book haul! I have a hard time even without Netgalley, and if I ever get on there (which I’m considering)- I’m doomed! lol

I’m curious about Carve the Mark since I’m wondering what Veronica Roth is up to.

End of April- that seems like a late spring break. Sorry to hear it’s stressful- but I can see that with everyone mass emailing their issues! Gotta love reply all! Hope you have a great week ahead! 🙂

  5. That’s a huge haul! 🙂 I’m glad you like Archangel’s Kiss — while not one of my all-time favorites, I did enjoy that series 🙂

  6. Ugh sounds like a not fun week at work! I hate when negativity starts spilling over into my inbox. I don’t need it! Hopefully this week is much better. I still can’t believe y’all don’t get spring break until the end of April! We get spring break mid-march, which I will most certainly be ready for. Of course April and May will be looong, but then June comes and we’re done! Yay!

Have a great week and happy reading!

    • Right-the end of April seems SO LATE! But, when we come back we will only have 3 weeks, then exams and graduation. So, at least there is that! But man, January, February, March, and most of April with no breaks in sight…YIKES!

  7. That reply all email situation sounds like a frustrating mess. And sorry for the lack of snow days :-/

Oh gosh, at least one dog is nice enough to stay clean lol. That’s terrible about your bed being all muddy though! At least you’ve got your computer and your new gas stove now 🙂

    • Yeah, thankfully Calleigh is as fond of the mud as I am so she stays nice and clean. Unfortunately, if its too muddy out she just goes potty inside on the floor…I can’t win! But, it doesn’t matter because I have my nice new stove and my nice new computer!!!

  8. Very nice book haul. Happy Reading.
School = Stress I never enjoyed school. I always wanted to be outside even when the weather was bad. Only 5months until June. Hang in their and think positive.
The emails. I h8 when people hit replay all. Really it’s not hard to hit replay to the one and only person you need to. =/
    Well have a great week.

    • I love school but man I need a break! Its not even the kids-its the adults that make teaching hard!! And the emails…I am always just baffled that some people would speak to their boss like that, much less let the entire staff know they talk to their boss like that! Its just crazy!

  9. I voted for Nowhere But Here!! I absolutely loved that book last year! Plus, the third book is coming out soon so you need to read this series ASAP!
Yay for the computer!! The e-mail thing sounds kind of draining. I probably would delete the emails and not read them, or I’d get stressed. I hope this week is better for you!
    Genesis @ Latte Nights Reviews

    • Nowhere but here has been sitting on my kindle since the day it released like 2 years ago. I read the first chapter or 2 and wasn’t into it immediately and put it down. Never picked it back up, but everyone raves about it, so I thought I should give it another try!

  10. YAY for no gas leaks! LOL

Amazing haul. I’ve been so out of the loop lately I have been eyeing everyone’s haul to see what I NEED.

Hope you have a great week!

  11. What a coincidence we both talked about netgalley in our weekly recap post. I can’t stay away either, but for me it’s the cozies that always get me. Still waiting to get accepted or declined for some of them. Sounds like a crazy week with all the school stuff, i hope it calms down soon. But glad to hear your stove is working and that your new laptop arrived. Have a great week!
