Non-Bookish News:

This past week at work was crazy busy!Β It was one of those weeks where everything just went different from planned and required extra work. This week we have conferences on Thursday night so I will be at work until 9 pm. I have an IEP meeting scheduled and also an ETR meeting that we are anticipating will NOT go smoothly. So, send me some good vibes this week, please!

I really want to get back to focusing on losing weight. I did so good a couple years ago, and that weight I lost has crept back up. I get up an exercise every morning, but I am shit at tracking my calories! I eat so much crap! I know I need to stop. I know HOW to lose the weight. I just have no drive when I think about food. I want to eat all the things!

Nothing else really happened this week. Work, home, repeat. I’m kind of down with that! I read some awesome books (Seriously, Riveted by Jay Crownover and Nova by Rebecca Yarros were both mind blowingly good!). Hopefully this week is a success too!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I’m so excited about the Goodreads rereads feature. I’ve tried many times to add duplicate editions, but having duplicate books on my shelves always drove me nuts and I would wind up deleting them. I wish I had the duplicates now so I could enter in the reread info.

  2. Thanks for the recommendations. I’ll grab Riveted and Nova as soon as possible. Hope your meetings go well. Have you read The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons? It’s on big sale now. One of my ALL Time Faves Ever.

Hope you have a great week! πŸ™‚

  3. I don’t really re-read books so that feature doesn’t really work for me.
I hope your meetings go good. I have been on the otherside of the IEP meeting, they always stress me out because our schools don’t like to help special needs kids and would rather cause the parents extreme anxiety. πŸ™‚

I am working on figuring out what to read next. I need a mind blower. Really only read a lot of 3 and 4 star books.

Have a great week, Samantha! Happy Reading! ox

  4. It looks like you’ve had a good review week! Congrats on not requesting any books this week! It’s always a struggle not to ask for more than we need XD I’m actually good at tracking calories but I’m super lazy with the gym! Haha! Have a great week πŸ˜€

  5. Eating healthy is the toughest challenge I swear….its my downfall when trying to keep fit. Self control and eating is not my strongest point. But lately using WW has really helped me in that way of tracking what I eat. Good luck with your goals, it can be tough.

  6. That’s really cool about the new GR feature. I don’t do a lot of re- reads but when I do it will be nice to have, definitely.

Sending you good vibes for your meetings! πŸ™‚ Have a super week.

  7. Fingers crossed that the meetings go well this week! And I struggle with the food thing ,too. Constantly. It’s like, I know what I *should* be doing but actually putting it into practice? Yeah, that’s another story. I’m starting the audiobook of the final Marked Men book this week and I’m excited to read more from Crownover after that!

  8. Rowena

Good luck on getting your food intake under control. That’s the hardest part for me, too.

I’m really excited about the re-read feature on Goodreads. I re-read quite a bit so it’s nice that I’ll be able to count those toward my reading challenges now.

    Have a great week, Samantha!

  9. I am glad Goodreads added the re-read feature. Other than children’s books, I don’t often re-read books, but it does happen and I like having the ability to add the information into Goodreads. I hope you have a good week. It sounds like you will be extra busy with work. I need to eat better too. πŸ™ Take care, Samantha!
