ARCs

Non-Bookish News:

May Clean Sweep ARC update: I have read 3 ARCs this week- Enemy Mine by Katie Reus, The Purest Hook by Scarlett Cole, and Shelter for Elizabeth by Susan Stoker. All three were great, too!!

Buying a house update: We are getting closer. Our possible closing date is 5/27. Its been a flurry of signing documents, paying for an appraisal, and everything else that comes before the house! Its been exhausting and overwhelming. I will be happy once its all done though!

This week at work nearly killed me! I had so many IEP meetings. Then I spent one entire day proctoring one of my students taking the AP Physics exam. He gets double time and took every minute of it. That was 6 hours of testing. But, now that last week is done, I have done all of my IEP meetings for the year and all my students have finished all their state tests! Only 3 weeks left until the end of the school year!! Can I get an amen!?

Happy Mother’s day to all the moms out there! I hope you have an amazing day!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I’m always curious about Jay Crownover’s books, but her lead heroes have terrible names and they are so distracting. I’ll be looking forward to what you think of Charged.
Ahhh I’m glad you’re getting closer to finishing up all the house business. And oh my. Proctoring 6 hours of an exam?? I’m tired thinking about it.
Enjoy your week and happy reading!

    • You are SO right about her character names!! Thankfully, it is something that has never really bothered me much. I enjoy her writing and I loved her Marked Men series! So far, I am enjoying this spin off series too!
I never thought watching someone test would be exhausting, but I was so tired after that test. And I didn’t even do anything!!

  2. Oh my, that test sounds like it was too much! Six hours? I have students who have extra time on their year end exams, too, but I – strangely – have not been scheduled to actually sit and look at what students are up to during their exams in June, so I’ll only have correcting and grading to do in June…
Your new books look great, Samantha! I hope you’ll enjoy them.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

  3. Glad the testing is over. IEP meetings are no fun. I am usually sitting on the other side of those and this town is just awful. Good Luck with the house hunting. I am hoping to start looking next year for a house out of this town. My kids need a better school system and this one is not working for me.

I hope you have a fantastic week, Samantha! Happy Reading!

Eeks, I’m so excited for you that you are almost done with the buying process! Here’s hoping the month goes by quickly for you so that way school is done and you can move in to your house! And I can’t believe that it was a 6 hours test. That’s soooo long!
I can’t wait to see what you think of Charged! I haven’t read that spinoff series yet (starting with Zeb’s book) but I hope it’s as fun as her Marked Men Series! Enjoy!
