Non-Bookish News:

I can’t believe July is 1/2 over!!! I go back to work on August 1st! I’m not ready!!! How do people work a normal job every day without summers off?? Seriously, I could never manage it!

Last Sunday I was at my parents house enjoying the company of my moms side of the family. I knew I could count on my cousin (who is 35) to show me what the Pokemon Go craze is all about. Needless to say, several of my family members were intrigued as well. We ended up taking a family walk around the block on a pokemon hunt. Hilarious! While I don’t really understand the craze, I think its awesome that in order to be successful in the game you have to get out and walk around! Genius!

My husband installed our new dishwasher and I am in LOVE with it. It actually cleans stuff!!!! Now, the last thing we still have to do is run the gas line for the new stove (we are switching from electric to gas) and then cut in a new vent. Needless to say, this install has me a bit more nervous! But, my husband and his friend are sure they can do this.

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Sounds like you had a great week. This pokemon go is so popular my husband and daughter are active hunters. You have an awesome haul this week look at all the lovely pretty books. I hope you have a great week.

    • Yes, all my friends have gotten so hooked in the Pokemon go craze! I think its great-you are forced to walk around and not sit in front of the tv! Genius!!!

  2. Having a dishwasher is a good thing! Funny, though, that I have one that I have not used in the nine years I’ve lived here! I don’t have a lot of dishes to wash, since there are seldom more than three or four people here at a time. I have a cute wooden rack that I love to use. LOL

Maybe I should give it a whirl.

I am seeing the whole Pokemon Go thing everywhere. I do like the idea of something that gets the kids out and on the go, though.

    Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

    • Oh I grew up without a dishwasher. My dad used to say “What do you mean-we have 2 dishwashers” meaning me and my brother. After we graduated and moved out-they got a dishwasher!!
      Have a great week!

    • Right? I think the game designers are genius! Getting people out walking around and interacting! Such a cool idea! Although it has to be MURDER on your data and cell battery!

    • I know!! And it has to be terrible on data usage! I imagine lots of upset parents when that cell phone bill comes in with a data overage charge!
And in just the small walk around the block, my cousin drained 11% of his cell phone battery!

  3. Being single I sure do miss the honey do stuff. LOL Now I have to rely on my brother or pay a repair man. Looks like fun chillin the hammock:) Very nice book haul too.

  4. It sounds like your week was pretty good! How funny about Pokemon Go! Everyone I know is playing, but I haven’t been able to get into it and I guess that’s okay. I don’t need any new obsessions! 😛 Enjoy your new books and have a great week!

  5. Oh my goodness, everyone is talking about Pokemon Go! I’ve seen it on numerous blogs, and I was just talking to a friend about it yesterday. I can’t imagine finding Pokemon being so exciting that it would actually get me to walk for miles, but apparently it works for some people. I mean, it is a great idea to help get people more active and out and about. I love that your family all went on a Pokemon hunt together though lol.

Glad your new dishwasher is working well! Good luck with the stove 🙂 Have a great week!

  6. I am also thinking it is awesome for people to be walking around playing Pokemon Go. My 17 year old has been playing it lately. I am not a Pokemon fan so I’ll just skip it.
I love my gas stove. It is just so much easier. I hope your husband and his friend get it sorted out correctly.
    Have a great week!

  7. Oh that sounds like a nice place to read, in a hammock. I don’t take a vacation from my job, but I love my work, so I don’t mind as much.
I don’t really understand the Pokémon Craze either, but hey if others are having with it that’s great! And it does sound like a great concept to get people outside. I hope you’ll have a great week!
