Welcome to this week’s Sunday Post. This feature is brought to you by The Caffeinated Book Reviewer, so swing by after you are done here and get the full list of participants!

What I Reviewed:

My least favorite read this month was Dirty for Me. It was just….no. My favorite read was The Virgin and the Viscount! I am so glad I took a chance on it! It was a unique historical romance that I really enjoyed!

In August, I have 28 reviews scheduled (yes, I am a voracious reader!). I am super excited for The Darkest Link by Scarlett Cole and A Scot in the Dark by Sarah MacLean. I loved the other books in the series so I have been making grabby hands for these books! I also just got a copy of the upcoming Sidney Halston book, Pull Me Close, which I am excited for because the heroine is an agoraphobic! So, maybe there will be 29 reviews this month…There are 31 days in August so I have a few days to spare 😉

What’s Coming Up:

  • Gone Too Deep by Katie Ruggle (Loved It!)
  • Out of Bounds by RS Grey (Loved it!)
  • Fool Me Once by Katee Robert (meh)
  • This Earl is on Fire by Vivienne Loret (meh)
  • Mettle by JC Valentine (meh)
  • Hard Rules by Lisa Renee Jones (So good!)
  • Jonquils for Jax by Katy Regnery
  • Blind Landing by Carrie Aarons
  • The Gun Runner by Scott Hildreth

This Week’s Book Haul:

Thanks to the publishers! NetGalley is going to be the death of me!

Non-Bookish News:

Tomorrow I go back to work. Well, sort of! I am teaching a two week test prep class. But, as soon as that ends, I have to start my regular job of teaching. I am already missing summer and my daily afternoon nap! Adulting sucks!

I started PIIT28 this week. Its a high intensity interval pilates routine. It is KILLING ME! Holy moly! You are suppose to do 4 rounds of the routine; I can only do 2 but I am trying! And boy do my muscles feel it! Hopefully it will translate into results. I have a thyroid condition called Hashimoto’s (recently, Zoe Saldana spoke about her diagnosis!). While I have been on medication and monitoring it for years, I still struggle occasionally when my thyroid acts up. I can tell I am having one of those thyroid flare ups. My weight has gone up despite exercise and calorie counting, my skin is dry and cracking, I have bouts of insomnia followed by times of sleeping all day and night. Its no fun. It also causes a spike in my anxiety, so I have to have my anxiety meds adjusted as well. I have an appointment for my biannual bloodwork this week, then a follow up with my endocrinologist the following week. Hopefully we can come up with a plan to help during these times!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Sorry you are not feeling well, I hope you can get that under control soon, that really sound like no fun at all.
I can’t believe some schools are already going back. It seems so early but then again NJ seems to always be late. Sometimes I would prefer the early in and early out of school.
I am determined to get my health back on track once September comes (starting sooner maybe) just don’t feel like myself and I have a feeling a lot is due to poor eating habits. For a 5’0″ person I should weight this much. I want to try that Piit28 but it sounds intense and I am worried I won have the chance to do a lot of it since the kids always seem to need me when I am doing something. 🙂

I hope you have a great week, Samantha! Happy Reading!

  2. Nice haul, I need to get Hoover’s book on audio 🙂 Yay for 28 reviews scheduled, I am working on book reviews for September and October now. I still have an audiobook to listen to for August but otherwise I am scheduled. Happy Reading!

  3. For a second I thought you reviewed all of those book last week until I looked at the dates and realized they were from this month lol. I am loving the reviews you have coming up, I wish I was reviewed up to a month in advance (I’m working on it). Enjoy your week and I hope August is kind to you 🙂

  4. Wow! If only I could read and review that many books in a month. I’m a little envious. 😉 That is an amazing haul, too. I have two Tillie Cole books and still haven’t read them. I buy. They get pushed back. It’s a never ending cycle. Have a great August of reading. 🙂

  5. Wow, you write a lot of reviews! I only post maybe 10 a month. I think I’d be too stressed trying to post more.

That’s awesome that you’ve started a new workout thing! Who cares if you can’t do all 4 rounds yet, 2 is a great start 🙂 You’ll work your way up to it!

    Have a great week 🙂

  6. I like how you’re easing back into school. I personally think it would be a shock to go right back into a full classroom!!!

So many beautiful books this week!! Is it just me or all the covers starting to look alike? I’m starting to not be able to tell the difference between series and authors. UGH!

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with thyroid disease. I’m so glad you have a diagnosis and medication/plan of attack, though!!!! Sometimes, that’s half the battle, right? Hang in there, girl!!!!

  7. 28 reviews? Phenomenal! We have to go back for in-service on the 11th. I hope all goes well with your bloodwork and upcoming appointments. I have a friend who also has a thyroid condition and I know it takes a lot to work with.
