Non-Bookish News:

Friday was my birthday. My students made a poster and had everyone sign it. It was so sweet! A coworker made me gluten free brownies too! All in all, it was a pretty good day!

Next week my students have some state testing to do this week. I always hate those tests because they put a lot of pressure on the students. They have to keep taking them until they pass. If they don’t pass before high school ends, they don’t graduate. This is the second time they are taking the Algebra I test and they are already feeling defeated. So, I have to be a cheerleader all week!

Thats pretty much all that happened. Pretty dull week really! This actually makes me very happy…

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Aww Happy Belated Birthday! That was so sweet of your coworker to make you that yummy sounding brownie. Sounds really good…anything chocolate and me usually get along. lol! So many great looking books on the new releases list! I may have to check out a few of them. Hope you have a great week!

  2. What a nice surprise from your students! I hope you had a nice birthday. You sound like such a good teacher . I hope your students do well on the upcoming tests. Tests and writing papers are things I do not miss about school. Looks like there are some new books I need to check out!

I hope you have a wonderful week!

  3. I am excited about Island of Glass, but put it on my Secret Santa list…so I have to wait in case they buy it…lol I love Ryan’s books and hope you enjoy it. Happy Birthday!!

  4. You’re a teacher? That’s awesome! I’m going for Elementary Ed. Happy Birthday!
So many 2017 challenges popping up. I got to be careful because I never follow through with all of them. I got to pick the ones I’ll actually do!

  5. I hope your students did well on the algebra test this second time around, Samantha! Those tests are the bane of so many students’ existence, and while I agree that we need to be able to ensure that they have learnt some specific things in each class, I’m not sure the testing the way it’s done now is the best way to do so…
I hope your week is a good one!
