eARCs thanks to the authors and publishers:
Ok we settled back into a nice routine at work. I felt like I got things accomplished this week. Sadly, we have 2 out of state transfers, which means I have to start a new evaluation on those kiddos so they can get their IEP back. Plus, I have the normal 3 year reevaluations for students on IEPs that just happen to be due earlier in the year. We have 1 special ed teacher who will be on maternity leave in November, so we need to get her students reevaluated before then. I’m also still helping the new part-time school psych at the high school learn all the unique Ohio paperwork, learn how to give the digital assessments, and just get to meet all the people at the high school. So, I got stuff accomplished this week, but I was BUSY.
Of course my reading has slowed way down as well. I usually read at night before bed, but I’m so tired I can’t get more than chapter before I fall asleep. We get up at 5:00 am, so we put the dogs to bed at 8:00 and then we go to bed, and I try to be asleep by 9. My psychiatrist really pushes me to get 8 hours because it helps my OCD. Plus, I take my allergy meds at night and they make me sleepy. So, between 8-9 is when I can read, but I also have other things (trying to get ready for bed, getting stuff together for the next day, etc).
Most of my time at home, when not spent playing with dogs or hanging out outside with them while they run around our back yard like the Brickyard 500, I have been playing Disney Dreamlight Valley on apple arcade. I love “cozy” games. Its an open world game where you just do quests for the various Disney characters that live there. It’s so chill. I still play Hello Kitty Island Adventures as well, but not as much since I beat all the current quests.
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!
It sounds to me like you are handling things well. I have the same problem of falling asleep instead of reading at bedtime. Do you have time when driving or walking the dogs or cooking to listen to audio? That’s how I fit in more reading. I see you got a Steve Cavanagh book and I just tried his work and liked it. (not that book though)
I love cosy games, too. I got a Switch during lockdown so I could “visit” my daughter, but I cannot find the time these days. Sounds like school is off to a great start. Always good to be busy but not crazy.
I used to be able to read lat at night but not anymore either! I fall asleep after a few pages just like you!
I got the Disney Dreamlight Valley, but had a lot of trouble figuring out how to get to certain places, so kind of gave up. I love games like that usually though too! I’ve finished all the Animal Crossing challenges, so quite playing that too. I’ve not gotten much reading done with school back in, or blogging! I miss my book time! Here’s hoping we both have a good year!
I’m having the same problem with reading. I’ve barely read anything in weeks because I’m too tired. I hope you get some rest soon!
