Non-Bookish News:

This week started off with 60’s! It was crazy. Last week, I had 3 days off due to extreme cold, then Sunday-Thursday were 60 degree days. Friday? High of 25. WTH Ohio?

Last Sunday was the Super Bowl here in the USA. Now, I am, and have been for MANY years, a New England Patriots fan. So, I am thrilled they one. However, that was the most boring super bowl ever. The game was boring, the commercials were boring, the half time show was boring. At least my team won; if not, that would have made the whole thing really stink.

Since there were no weather issues this week, I had to work all 5 days. It was the first time we have had a normal week since December. Not gonna lie-it was rough! By Friday, we all looked a little haggard! And I had to go back on Saturday to administer an ACT test.

This week we have parent teacher conferences. On Valentines day. So, I will be at work from 7 am until 8 pm. I will be ready to totally unplug from the world by next weekend. That is a week of teaching plus conferences-my socialization limit will be exceeded! Thankfully I really do love my coworkers and we will make it a fun night regardless. I am lucky to work with the people I do. My teammates really make me happy. I reward their humor with starbucks. Then we are all happy!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Ouch Samantha parenst teacher meeton Valentine is not great! And I have heard indeed that this super bowl was boring… Fingers crossed that the weather will be less weird in the coming week. Oh and I got The Risk too!!!!

  2. Glad your team won but I agree- not the most exciting Super Bowl ever haha! And aww conferences on Valentine’s Day? Ack that’s bad timing!

Anyway hope you have a good week! The weather here is still in the throes of winter too… ugh.

  3. Looks like a lot of us jumped on that Hades Hangmen sale. 🙂 I already had the first two but snapped up books 3 thru 6. The Super Bowl was a total snooze-fest. The game, the commercials, the halftime show. Boooring. Sounds like Thursday is going to be a crazy long day for you. Hope it at least goes smoothly.

  4. Our weather has also been in some 40 degree swings. It’s cold today and Tues-Wed will be warmer but rain. At least we will be more like 60s the rest of the week. I too have a busy week ahead so I’m feeling a bit more stressed. Well all the things are my daughter’s school and appointments but I know she will be more tired and stressed so I am in nervous anticipation of it. Thankfully there are some great books. Try to find a little relax and read time!

  5. I agree the Super Bowl was boring and so was the half time show. Now I found a few of the commercial to be great, but not many. That is some weird Ohio weather you had. Hope this week goes well with the parents. Take care.

  6. I’m a Rams fan, so I was not happy with the outcome of the game. I’m still a little heartbroken. But the halftime show was boring. I didn’t see the commercials because I was cleaning in between the game lol. The weather has been crazy too. We had days it was in the 70s then it would drop. I never know how thick of a jacket to send my little ones to school with. It kind of sucks that Parent Teacher Conference is on Valentine’s Day. My kids don’t have it until next week. I had already bought the Hangman’s series but I haven’t read it but I’ve heard really good things about Tilie Cole’s writing. I hope you have a wonderful week!

  7. I bought all of Tillie Cole’s Hades Hangmen series too… 99p a book was just too good to pass up when it’s been on the TBR for ages! I hope we both enjoy them!

“My socialization limit will have been exceeded” – I actually laughed out loud. I feel like this all the time. Glad to know it’s not just me!

Hope you have a good week!
