I need more ideas like this in my life…
Friday was my birthday. We didn’t do anything. At 43, after working all day, I didn’t want to do anything. So, I gave myself the gift of doing nothing!
My supervisor at work gave me the rubric she is using for my evaluation this year. I’m nervous be she and I didn’t get along in the past. I’m really uncomfortable with her being my evaluator because she doesn’t understand my job (she has no special education background), and she doesn’t really like me. But, oh well. I’m trying not to worry about it too much.
I did have a meeting with my university supervisor and my internship supervisor and they both love me! That made me feel good, so I am holding on to that!
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!
A nice, quiet, restful night is a great gift if you need it. It’s your party, and it should be what you want. Good on you! Good luck with the evaluation. Here’s hoping your supervisor is professional.
Nothing sounds good. I hope this year goes well and then you have options. A supervisor isn’t your friend, sadly, or even a mentor in this case.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
As a librarian I know the fear of being evaluated by people that don’t really understand what your job is. Only mine is not as essential as your job is in SPED. Happy belated birthday! I’m excited for Well Traveled, will definitely be buying it soon! Hope you have a good week and that your evaluation goes well!
I don’t understand why someone who doesn’t understand your job would be reviewing you. That’s ridiculous. I love doing nothing after working too! Happy belated birthday, Sam!
Sometimes having a day just to relax is the best kind of day! So I am glad it was a good day for you.
I love those manager meetings where they tell you how much they love you haha those are the best!
Happy belated birthday Samantha! I hope your evaluation will go well.
Happy belated birthday! And good luck with your evaluation.
Hooray for the gift of doing nothing. I wholly approve. 🙂 That’s nerve-wracking about your evaluator. Fingers crossed it goes well!
Haha, I love the queso warmer! Happy birthday, and I hope your evaluation goes well. Have a great week!
Happy birthday! I saw that queso warmer on social media recently and wondered why I hadn’t thought of that myself. I swear I could live on queso alone.
I used to have a supervisor who was vastly underqualified to supervise me. She mostly just stayed out of my way until she was laid off a couple of years later. We did butt heads a few times but we mostly worked it out on our own. I had to call in human resources to intervene one time though. I guess my advice (whether you want it or not, lol) is to hope for the best, bend where you can, and be prepared to stand up for yourself when you have to. Hopefully your situation is as smooth as it can be and your evaluation is fair. It’s great that your university supervisors appreciate you!
Enjoy your week!
