This Week’s Book Haul:
Non-Bookish News:
I’m a little over 1 week post op. I’m doing pretty well I think. I have a follow up appointment tomorrow so I will be able to get a report on what to expect. Right now, I have a list of things I am wondering about: is the itching normal, is the ringing in the ear normal, how much longer with the packing in the ear, etc. I’m still on restrictions: no strenuous activity, no lifting, no water in the ear, etc. But, July is ‘my month’. In June, I am wrapping up the previous school year, and by August I have to start thinking about the upcoming school year. But July I have nothing work related! Its great!
Since I can’t really DO much, I have been playing Lego Harry Potter. I played it years ago and forgot how much I enjoy it! I’m through years 1-4, and now going back and trying to get all the hidden gems and extras. I think I like it because its kind of adventure-ish and NOT a first person shooter. I don’t handle games where people shoot at me. By next weekend I will probably have 5-7 complete too 🙂
Thats pretty much all thats going on with me. Its been disgustingly hot here so I’m glad I don’t have to go outside much. The dogs and I usually spent about 15 min at a time playing in the yard, then we head back inside! And it looks like its gonna stay in the 90’s for awhile (which is typical of July in Ohio). Another reason I am glad I don’t have anything to do in July!
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

Summer pretty much sucks, weather-wise, as far as I am concerned. I am lucky enough to not have to spend too much time outside. I hope the doctor confirms that your recovery is going well, and that you continue your successful HP Lego reign .
I have never been a fan of Summer weather. I prefer COLD!
I haven’t played any of the LEGO games yet, but I need to try them out! Hope you have a great week!
Lego Harry Potter is the only one I have played (I’m not really a gamer) but I love it!
I’m glad you *think* you are doing well! Hopefully your appointment/checkup confirms that and you continue to feel better. I’ve always wanted to play Lego Harry Potter! When I was a kid, I had one of the Harry Potter games for Playstation and I loved it/have always wanted to play other HP related games, just never got around to it. Anyways! Hopefully this upcoming week treats you well!
Lego Harry Potter is so much fun!!! I’m not a video game fan, but I love this game! I’m already into year 6 now!
The Prenup is out?! I need to get it! Also, I really hope you recover quickly. That must be really bad :/
It comes out Tuesday!!
I hope it continues to improve this week. I am so happy to hear you have the whole month off for you!
Anne – Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
I hope the healing continues and all is well at your check up this week.
My kids used to love the Lego games, but they are all about first person shooters these days.
Have a great reading week
Hope your Dr. appt goes well today, and yay for July being your month with nothing to do! That sounds wonderful. It’s hot here in Southern California, been in the upper 90’s but I think our humidity isn’t quite as bad. It was 59% last night. It’s supposed to be over 100 by next weekend, ugh!
I enjoyed Her Deadly Secrets, too. Four star read for me as well. Enjoy your HP game, and have a great week! 🙂
Hope today’s follow-up goes well! I feel you on the heat. I’m so over it already. I tend to tolerate it less and less every year. I just go from one indoor location to another. It’s been so muggy and humid here this week and it’s miserable. Ugh!
Glad you’re doing well! Post op can be such a trying time, as you’re afraid of doing this or that wrong (or at least I have in the past lol). Hope you have smooth sailing here on out. 🙂
It’s been hot here too, after a pretty cool June. It was roasting over July 4th!!
Hope you get healed up soon and quickly and get back in top form!! Surgery is no fun but its the recovery from it that is the WORST!!!
I do love LEGO Harry Potter though, such fun to play.
It is good to hear you are doing well after the operation and I hope you heal quickly. The Lego game sounds fun. I’m spending more time indoors too as it is so hot that even the pool water isn’t that refreshing. LOL
I hope you’ll continue to feel better, Samantha 🙂
July is my month, too – for the exact same reasons as you. It’s so nice to just be able to hang out and relax – no thinking of work at all.
I love the lego games. My husband and I started playing them back in our uni days and we have them scattered over 3 different consoles! :Now our kid is playing them… They don’t really get old. Have fun and continued speedy healing! Enjoy your ‘me’ month.
Samantha I am happy that the post surgery seems going great. Well I hope that all that you’re experiencing is normal and that a doctor visit will put you at ease. Now relax and enjoy your July! Here it’s too dry and the grass is already yellowing …
