Well, we got a snow day on Tuesday, so that extended our long weekend! But, if you aren’t a teacher, student, or school employee right now, you don’t understand how stressful it is. Everyone is just overwrought. Everyone is angry, sad, anxious, and/or worried. It is exhausting. Add to it the increase in COVID cases leading to more quarantines, it is not a good environment.
Other than that depressing news, I had a low key week. Work, then home to do grad school stuff. I think that is all I can handle right now.
If you watch my tiktok above, I got a really cool remote control page turner! Now I can lay in bed, use a gooseneck device holder, and not even have to touch my kindle! Seriously-game changing!
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!
Ugh, I’m so sorry that you have to deal with that and that it makes your days so stressful. 🙁 At least it was a relatively lowkey – and SHORT! – week. A remote control page turner?! Mind. Blown.
I totally get the stress you’re feeling as I am a school librarian. My district let teachers work from home on Tuesday for the scheduled work day if they wanted. I went ahead and went in because I was able to do some stuff with no one else in the building. Although I ended up spending most of the day working on enrolling virtual students as I have been put in charge of that on top of my library job. They’re paying me an extra stipend, but it isn’t really enough in my opinion. Oh well. That’s the crazy life in education these days! The Mad Girls of New York is a new one to me, but it sounds good! Enjoy your new books, hope you have a good week!
I am always grateful that I left education, but even more so these days. It has to be so challenging to teach these days.
I’m sorry the teaching is stressful but hopefully the snow day gave you a bit more time for your grad work?
I’m so intrigued by this page turner, I have not heard of it before. I’ll check it out.
It’s kind of grim everywhere unfortunately. I hope things get better for everyone asap!
The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by Elizabeth O’Roark was a fantastic book. I love all of her’s. That’s her newest release. 5 stars from me.
I hope you have a good week!
How awesome is that remote control – I need to find out more.
School goes back here next week and everyone is very stressed about it. Be kind to yourself.
Wishing you a great reading week
i LOVE the remote…and the gooseneck. i think i’ll have to look for both. sorry for the covid rise. living here in florida, i am familiar with that, but i think the cases are coming down…at least for now. snow…what’s that. lol love to look at it, but happy i don’t have to deal with it
