It’s the end of my holiday break and I am sad. But, we are suppose to get 10-12″ of snow tonight, so there is hope for a day off tomorrow! I live in a place where 3-4″ is a day off, so I’m pretty hopeful. It’s snowing right now, and it is suppose to pick up between 10 pm and 1 am, where it will be up to an inch of snow per hour. Plus, they are calling for some ice as well. So, fingers crossed!

My last week of break was very low key, just like I like it! Curled up with the dogs, binging the original Law and Order, and eating snacks. But, like every new year, I promised myself I would get back on the calorie counting bandwagon. Except I’m not as focused on calories and more on getting more protein than carbs! If you have read the Lady Sherlock series by Sherry Thomas, you will understand: I am beyond maximum tolerable chins. It’s a problem.

Back to work this week with meetings! Gotta love jumping back in with both feet. Its going to be a very busy couple of months. Plus, in 6 weeks I head to a conference in Seattle. I’m very excited about it, but it means a week where I can’t have meetings, so I have to have more meetings crammed in before I leave!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Snow is beautiful and it’s usually not quite as cold while it is falling. We have a cold week ahead but with rain tomorrow. I love Lady Sherlock! I hope you do get a snow day because it is just such a rush like a freebie of time.

  2. I’m hoping for the snow day too! I’m just afraid if it all ends by this evening, they’ll have time to clean it up before tomorrow morning when we have to go to school. But it’s still coming down right now, and it’s only going to get colder, so cold temps could get school cancelled too, I hope. Here’s hoping for a snow day for both of us tomorrow!

I would not want to trade places with you (that’s a lot of snow), but at least you work in an industry with snow days and can stay safe. The conference sounds like something to look forward to, and you get to visit Seattle. What fun!
