Same, panda, same.
For the first time in my life, I have poison ivy. Turns out, it is ALL OVER the yard. The place in the fence I fixed last week, covered in poison ivy. I never paid attention because I have never been allergic to poison ivy. Well, it turns out that can change over time. Plus, I didn’t know that dogs could bring it in on their fur. So, it is has been a rough week! It started on my arms, but now I have it on my feet, neck, hands, and behind my ears. Friday, I called the doctor and they wrote me a prescription for steroids to help. The spots on my fingers are the worst.
So, today (Sunday) I am paying a landscaper to come and remove the poison ivy (they already came and did a great job-bagged it all up and everything). Then the dogs are getting full baths and every piece of furniture and clothing is being washed (washing 4 dogs is a major job). Tonight, once the dogs are in for the night, I am going to respray the back yard with the ivy killer to get the roots. Hopefully this nightmare will be over!
That was pretty much my week. I have been so miserable and itchy I didn’t do much else.
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!
I’ve never been allergic to poison ivy, but until my current house have never really been around it. I had someone come get rid of it, spray it, in my yard earlier this year. Unfortunately my neighbors on the side it is on don’t really do much, so I can’t get completely rid of it. Ghosted is one I’ve wanted to read, so I can’t wait to see your review. Hope you have a good week and the poison ivy gets better quickly!
Ah I’m so sorry. I probably would have a rough time but I’m not around it luckily. I hope things improve quickly for you.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Oh no, poison ivy is the absolute worst! I remember getting in one time all over my face and arms. It was so itchy!
Yep, you can become allergic to Poison Ivy or Poison Oak over time and with repeated exposure. I’ve never had it, but I know what Poison Oak looks like and I stay completely away from it. I try not to step in in because the oil can get on the bottom of your shoes and you can track it in the house. We’ve had spots of it in our yard, but we spray weed killer on it to get rid of it. You have to be careful how you remove it too and never burn it! What a nightmare for you! I hope you feel better soon!
Oh no- that’s awful! We have a patch I think up by our fence but it’s on an incline and no one ever goes up there, I haven’t had it removed yet. Maybe I should!!
I’m jealous of that read panda having an ice block to lay on. I needed that last week. lol That’s awful about the poison ivy! How miserable. Hope you feel better soon.
Oh no. That poison ivy spray so quickly. If it come up again cut at the base of the vine. That way it will die and you can pull what in the ground out without toughing the leaves.
Have a great week.
oh that sounds so awful. I am so sorry to hear that you experienced that.. Poison Ivy is just awful and hope you get it all removed safely. I can’t wait to see what you think of the Nalini SIngh! Hope you pick up some fun books this week.
