@theholdernessfamily Who remembers what summer was like for Generation X? 🕹#genx #summer ♬ original sound – The Holderness Fam
Calleigh, our 13 year old dog, got really sick this past week. She had terrible diarrhea that went on for days. Of course, the vet couldn’t get us in, but we found a vet urgent care! You make an appointment online and we got one the same afternoon. It cost us $700 and took 3 hours of our Wednesday evening, but worth it. They did some bloodwork, gave her some meds, and fluids. Her liver enzymes are high so we have to follow up with our regular vet for that. But, they think the diarrhea is just a stomach bug.
Other than that, it was a normal week-grad school stuff, binge watching The Deadliest Catch, and getting ready for my return to work in 1 week. Pool time happened as well! It was very hot here this week, so it was necessary to have pool time. My pool time is Ranger’s outdoor exploration time and he LOVES that. The backyard is pretty shaded where he explores, so he doesn’t get too hot. He also just “Kool-Aid Man”-ed through our screen door, so he can go back in whenever (for those of you not familiar with the reference:
I binged the most recent season of The Deadliest Catch, then decided to go back to episode 1 season 1. I love this show. If you would have told high school me I would love a show about crab fishing, I would have never believed it. Yet, here I am!
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!
I got such a laugh from the Gen X summer clip. I’m not sure if I qualify as Gen X (I was born in the 60’s) but I remember a lot of those. 🙂 Pool days sound divine! I keep trying to find time to pop over to our amenities center for some pool time but it hasn’t happened yet.
Gen X is those born between’65-’80!
OMG Ranger. *SMH* Glad you are enjoying your summer. Even with pool time I think I’m just staying inside mostly for this July-August.
That video, when they said we know seven Jennifers. That’s the truth for my generation. Sorry to hear the pup was sick. Poor everyone with though. Where would a dog get a stomach bug from? Does you dog socialize with a lot of other dogs? Glad it wasn’t anything worse than that though.
It is so true-I think there were at least 10 Jennifer’s in my small graduating class!
Hope your dog gets better.
Have a great week.
Glad to hear you dog is okay! It’s so stressful when a pet is sick! That Gen X clip was so funny! Enjoy your week, Sam!
Vets always cost an arm and a leg but I am happy he could sort your pup! Also I love the Holderness family! Enjoy your last week of FREEDOMMMMM (insert a Braveheart meme here ;-))
oh no, I am so sorry to hear about your dog and its health issues and wow that is one big bill! I am glad you were able to get that sorted out. Hope you have a wonderful week before starting up with your work.
Happy Reading
Hope your dog is doing better now. Have a great weekend.
