Nothin’

Honestly, who knows? I might have something, I might not. I’m just trying to finish out this school year!

Whew! What a week! The children have lost their minds and the behaviors are worse than ever. Seriously-it’s bad. And on top of it, I was sitting with a group of teachers and described the behaviors as being “in the Thunderdome” and none of them got the reference. I felt SO OLD!! Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome!! It had Tina Turner in it! So, not only was the children’s behavior horrible, I’m old. It was just not a good week.

I also had the last of my evaluation meetings. While I’m glad they are over, I had 3 really tough ones this week. After one of them, no one was happy. The parent called the special ed director and he was furious and we had pass his inquisition. I’m much better at handling those situations now than I was as a young teacher, but they are still tough conversations to have.

There are 4 days of school left and then 1 teacher work day on Friday. Then I’m free until August! I can’t wait!

I have been having issues with my shoulder the past few weeks. It has now gotten really bad. Nothing seems to help; I’ve tried Advil, Motrin, a muscle relaxer, and a prescription anti-inflammatory. So, I’m going to have to schedule a doctors appointment once school is out because this pain is unbearable. Sometimes, just swinging my arm while I walk causes pain that stops me in my tracks! The other day I pulled my pants up and it hurt so bad it brought tears to my eyes.

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

The end of the year is never easy. May the odds be in your favor. I hope you can find some relief for you shoulder.

  2. I know what you’re saying about end of the year craziness! I’ve got 4 and a half more days with students, then I come back for 5 days after Memorial Day. I know what you mean about being old too! I’m so much older than most of the teachers it seems these days. I hurt my back, twisted something trying to restring my weed trimmer on Saturday. I kind of want to steal some of my dog’s muscle relaxers right now. I hope this week is easier for you! But I know we just have to make it through.
