The students’ last day was Wednesday! It was a struggle to get through Monday and Tuesday though! But, Tuesday we had our glow party and that was a huge success!
Wednesday was our 7th grade dodgeball tournament (we (my kids and I) didn’t win, but we did win one game, which was more than we expected) and then field day. It had been cooler than normal until Wednesday. It was 80+ degrees and full sun. I went straight for the soccer mom look and had a folding chair and an umbrella. When the kids looked overheated or getting sunburnt, I made them sit under my umbrella for a bit. They teased me about my look, but they all wanted a few minutes in the shade after awhile! I will miss this group of kids. I’m happy I will still get to see them next year!
The only thing left is to finish up our professional development days. We still have 3 more (Monday-Wednesday). I have almost everything moved up to my new classroom. I can’t set anything up because this summer they will have to wax the floors and such (so everything has to be up on counters or gets moved out of the room).
My graduate classes start June 21st, so I have a few weeks to just enjoy summer before that begins. We don’t have any plans this summer (paying for school pretty much takes over any disposable income we might have had). Before I know it, it will be time for teaching to start again!
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!
It sounds like a great summer plan. You are moving to a better way ahead. Enjoy your break!
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Congratulations on making it through the school year. I can only imagine all the challenges with COVID and everything. I am happy it all worked out for you in the end and wish you all the luck with your new adventure.
That glow party looks so fun! So many of those books are eye-catching. I’m gonna go browse now 🙂
I enjoyed Dream Spinner as well! Enjoy your break! 🙂
Yay for summer! I have a hold at the library for Unforgiven.
The glow part looks like a lot of fun!
Enjoy your break!
Wishing you a great reading week
Hooray for the end of the school year! And nice that you have a little break before grad school classes start. Enjoy the time off, Samantha!
Yay for a successful end of the year. It’s always bitter sweet. What classes are you taking this summer? I’ve missed a few Sunday posts and am out of the loop ?
I’m getting my school psychology license! I need something that takes me out of the classroom (my hearing is deteriorating and I need a quieter profession) but I wanted to stay in education.
