I have been going through some books in my personal library as I attempt to rearrange and find some space for all my books. Several books have brought back such fond memories and I realize how much I enjoyed them. So, I thought I would share some of my reads from 4 or more years ago that you might have missed!
Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris
Book 1 of the Sookie Stackhouse series blew my mind!! It was a mature Twilight that I thought was fantastic! I loved the uniqueness and the interesting characters. The TV show went off the rails after season 1 and it was NOTHING like the books, so I highly recommend reading the books.
Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
I read this and thought “I have got to share this with my students” (when I was teaching HS). I was right. I shared it with a few girls who I knew already read and enjoyed Cassandra Clare, and they were so excited about this series. It is a good series for sure and I loved the whole fallen angel thing.
The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden by Jessica Sorensen
This book (series) BROKE me! Oh my gosh I was so sucked in to this story. It was a fairly typical YA in terms of love and drama, but it was also so much more-plenty of trigger warnings for sure.
Ten Tiny Breaths by KA Tucker
Another book that had me ugly crying! The plot was heartbreaking and believable which made it more heartbreaking!
Wait for You by J. Lynn (Jennifer L Armentrout)
Ok, upon reflection I apparently used to like the angsty romances. But this one was a winner because of the characters. Seriously, both the hero and heroine were amazing people and you wanted them to get all the good stuff in life!
#Nerd by Cambria Hebert
I loved the nerdy/jock trope and I felt a kinship with Rimmel that had me loving the story.
Protecting Caroline by Susan Stoker
This was one of her earliest books and I was hooked. Caroline was strong and brave, the story had a super interesting plot, and it just really worked for me.
I liked the first two books a lot, but the series went downhill for me after that. It got really over the top with the drama. But, I definitely remember #Nerd fondly
I am loving your list here. I absolutely adored J.Lynn….this series was such fun to read. I really loved how she wrote New Adult. She just made it so fun.
Isn’t it great rediscovering old favorites? I have quite a few of these and haven’t read any of them!! Clearly I have some good books waiting for me. 🙂
