Honestly, who knows?!?

Nothing!

School is finally out! The last week was busy. I began rearranging my “cloffice” (closet office) to put new furniture in. I bought a different table for doing student testing at, and a bookshelf because I had been using stacked milk crates. I realized that I don’t really have any “friends” at work on our final day. It is just celebrations and such and finding a group to sit with was awkward. It was easier when I was a teacher I guess because I had my teammates. Being the school psychologist is kind of isolating. I mean, I’m friendly with everyone but I always realize on days like that how alone I am.
But, I’m thrilled to be off for the summer. I have nothing planned but hanging at home with the dogs. Playing video games, reading, napping…I’m excited about all of it. Plus, I have a lot of doctors appointments that I try to schedule in the summer-eye doc, gynecologist, psychiatrist, and now I have to find a new endocrinologist. My endocrinologist has had a lot of trouble finding other docs and PA’s for the practice. None of them seem to last more than a year. So, she decided to close the practice-3 days before my scheduled appointment is their last day. Sigh. I should have found a new place many years ago after we moved because its really far away (hour and a half), but its hard to find an endocrinologist accepting new patients.
It has been raining here for several days and now everything is flooded. The dogs are not happy about it. The yard is so wet we can’t really let them just run around.
I’m down to just 35 hours of PD left to finish by June 9th. So, next week I will be doing a lot of PD (basically, a full week of work spent doing PD). I now know if I switch jobs, I need to make sure I have documentation of my PD to take with me! I foolishly thought I wouldn’t need it, and when the state changed my psych license I realized I couldn’t use the PD from my grad program because I couldn’t align my licenses. Lesson learned!
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

Wow! She just closed the practice. Seems like there is more to that story. I hope you are able to find someone you like quickly and that you enjoy your summer!
We need the rain. It’s off and on and not flooding at all yet. It will continue this week, and also keeps it cooler. Yay enjoy your summer and good luck with finishing up the PD.
As the librarian I have the same issue at times with making “friends” at jobs. I was lucky to get adopted by some teachers at my current school, plus helping a sorority sister get a job, but even then she sat with her department. We shall see how the new job goes with finding friends as a new librarian. That’s a lot of PD you have to do! Of course they do days where they give us our PD at the school, even if it has nothing to do with some of our jobs like it does for the teachers. Hope you get to start enjoying summer soon!
Enjoy your downtime Samantha! Also I hope you find a new endocrinologist. May daughter is looking for a new one as well but the wait times are crazy!
I hope you have a wonderfully relaxing summer!
Surely your endocrinologist should help with a referral, maybe call and ask for one?
Thanks for sharing your week
That sucks that your doctor just closed her practice! I have had that happen to me twice and boy is it a pain. Good luck with your studies. What have I read this week? For romances, I started The Wittier Sister by Suzanne G. Rogers. If you like historical romance at all (or even fantasy romance) I recommend her books. Have a great week!
