“Katie Rose writes sexy, skilled sports heroes who know how to treat a woman right!” raves Wendy S. Marcus. Now the award-winning author of the Bad Boys of Baseball series introduces a team of soccer stars who score on and off the pitch.
New Jersey Hurricanes striker Logan Hart lives for the grind of training, the adrenaline of competition, and all the perks of the road—until his ex hands him a baby and tells Logan to raise her on his own. He’s eager to pass this bundle of joy into more capable hands and get back to his hard-playing, hard-partying ways. But when a beautiful, blond drill sergeant of a nanny turns Logan’s life upside down, he sets a new goal: winning her heart.
Isabella Bennett takes pride in teaching the rich and famous how to become loving families. Her no-nonsense style is just what Logan and his crying, copper-haired cutie need. So why can’t she get the image of Logan’s tanned, muscular body out of her head? Isabella’s here to whip a new father into shape, not fall for a sexy ladies’ man. But their chemistry is too tantalizing to ignore, much like the temptation to trust someone with her deepest secrets—and embrace a loving family all her own.

Hard to Hold is a charming story about a professional soccer player who finds out he is a dad when the woman he had a 1 night stand with drops the baby in his lap and takes off. Logan is obviously startled and not entirely sure the baby is even his! But, he can’t find the mother (because she got the hell out of town!) so he hires a nanny. The nanny turns out to be a hottie but a hard ass when it comes to whipping Logan into shape! Isabella is determined to make Logan a good father. The sexual tension is off the charts. Neither feels it appropriate to get involved…but….yeah, you can guess how well that goes!

Logan’s growth through the story is really cool to see. He is a professional athlete who has lived all over the world, and travels a lot for games. A baby doesn’t exactly fit into that picture. He struggles with accepting the baby as his, then struggles with trying to fit a baby into his life. But, as he gets to know Cinnamon (worst baby name EVER), he starts to see the cute things-the way she laughs at her own feet, etc. These things start to endear her to Logan. Isabella is determine to make Logan a great father for Cinnamon, but she starts falling for him and Cinnamon.

Isabella has devoted her life to helping other people raise their kids because she can’t have any of her own. Its a bit sad, and I can’t imagine how difficult it is for her every time she has to leave a family! She puts in so much time and effort and then has to walk away! I can’t even imagine how difficult that would be!

Hard to Hold, overall, is a classic contemporary romance that will give you everything you want from a good book: swoony moments, cute babies, sexual tension, and a happy ending! While I felt the story was predictable and slow at times, it is still an enjoyable read.
