Forgiveness is out of reach…
Nora’s relationship with Ryan, Seok, Apollo, Matisse, and Cai is everything she could want. Never believing she’d fall in love, the acceptance they offer her is the only thing standing between her and a world that still hates her, no matter her innocence. Falling into a routine with the guys, she finally lets herself relax and dream about the future.
Until the past catches up with them…
Suddenly, Ryan’s entire future is at stake, and a man from his past, one with good reason to hate him, arrives to take the things he’s worked so hard to build. Rather than fight, Ryan wants to submit, weighed down with the guilt he believes he deserves. Pushing Nora away, he distances himself from her and his friends, placing everything they have at risk.
Can Nora help Ryan heal? He has to believe the person he’s become is nothing like the man he was, but all he sees in the mirror is evil. Will he ever believe he’s earned her love and the chance to be happy?

Finding Valor is the continuing story of Nora and her guys (Ryan, Seok, Cai, Matisse, Apollo). The story starts with Ryan being waitlisted for law school. He is desperate to find out why. He is a perfect student and had glowing recommendations. This event leads to some flashbacks where you get some insight into Ryan (what happened in high school, what happened in his early college years, how he met Seok, etc). Ryan’s back story is troubling. He harbors so much self hatred that he is basically trying to punish himself. Its a side of Ryan I never would have imagined every existed just from what we see of him in book 1!

In addition to Ryan’s story and the question of will he get into law school, you also have Nora still working with that odd psychologist. The whole situation makes me uncomfortable for her! Like, it just feels…off or wrong somehow! Nora also has met Beau but doesn’t realize that HE is the reason Ryan hasn’t been accepted in to law school. She befriends him without making the connection between the 2. It isn’t until almost the half way point Nora mentions meeting a guy whose story is similar to hers, and Ryan makes the connection that the “Beau” she met, is his ex best friend Beau!

The first 1/2 of the story is centered around Ryan’s struggle to get into law school. His back story, his life changing events, and more are described to give us a deeper picture of Ryan, and how he met the guys. This story also propels the romance between Ryan and Nora ahead as well!

The next conflict arrises when Cai gets sick and is hospitalized. This also leads to some struggle between Matisse and Nora, which I thought was really over the top on Matisse’s part. But, whatever. However, Cai getting sick does give you more insight into his backstory as well, which was fascinating! And woven throughout this is Nora’s continuing struggle to shake people’s perception of her. I think this is a fascinating look into the psychology of people who were falsely accused, or even worse, falsely convicted.

Overall, I am enjoying this series and looking forward to more! The characters are interesting and after finding out so much more about Ryan that I never anticipated, I can’t wait for what is in store for the other boys!
