The calendar may say October, but its in the upper 80’s here. I am not a fan. I’m ready for cooler weather! Even the mornings haven’t been that cool (like 65). Its making me cranky. Its all been terrible for my allergies.

It was another busy week at work. Three evaluation meetings last week. For one of them, the special education teacher was out sick and didn’t even let me or the principal know! So we went to find her to discover she was out! We had to have the meeting without her, which is never great. I only see the kids for a short period of time, their teachers see them daily and can speak much better to how things are going. Oh well, its over now. This week I have a few meetings but we have conferences on Thursday night so I will be there late. I also have a PD training (I’m actually excited about it).

I haven’t gotten much reading done. I’m just so tired at night. And then on the weekends I’m trying to do all the stuff-cleaning, laundry. Plus, I’m still tired so there is usually a nap. I think I’m having some serious perimenopause issues-I’m gaining weight (even though I’m on a GLP-1), facial hair growth, high heart rate, fatigue. I’m not even sure what to do about it all.

The highlight of the week was Taylor Swift’s new album!!!! I love all the songs, but The Fate of Ophelia is one of my favorites. I also love how hilariously funny Wood is. And the way Gavin Newsome used Actually Romantic to troll DT is the kind of energy I need!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I am enjoying the new TS album as well! How frustrating that the SPED teacher couldn’t at least let you know and send some info to help with the meeting. I need to check out your review of Hollow as I’m interested in reading that one. And like you, I’m over this heat! I also get excited about PD, when it is good and something I can actually use. Like my library conference in another week. Can’t wait for that! Have a good week!

  2. Well it is weird because we are mostly 75-80 and 50s at night so really every day is lovely. We are farther south than you but because we are between mountains and ocean we seem to have a smaller range of temperatures. I hear you on the too tired to read at night. I’m just trying to get back to it by having my bedtime and waking at more consistent times. Also I don’t know if HRT therapy would be helpful. I didn’t have the symptoms until I was too old for it to be effective FYI. I hope you find some answers.

  3. It’s starting to cool down in Vegas and I’m glad that we’re not getting 100+ degree weather any more. I hope that it starts to cool down for you soon, 80 degrees is still hot!

I’m in such a massive reading slump that I am starting to get scared that I won’t pick up another book. Pray for me, lol. I hope your reading picks up soon too. I still have to check out the new TS album, I’m hearing such good things about it.

    Have a great week, Samantha!

This second and third summer thing is getting old. I am over it too. Hope some cool weather comes your way.
