Non-Bookish News:

My mama use to say “Sometimes you’re the windshield, sometimes you’re the bug.” meaning that sometimes you have the luck of a bug flying into a windshield. Well, this week, I am the bug. It was one of those weeks where the damn windshield just kept coming at me. Our appraisal came back and it was not high enough for us to refinance. My parents found out their dog has terminal bone cancer. My husband and I fought over finances (the lack of). I scratched my cornea and have a very puffy, painful eye that makes it difficult to do anything. I’m glad this week is over and hopeful that this week will be better.

How do you handle rough weeks?

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Sorry you have such a rough week. Finances seem to be the most common thing to argue about. My husband and I do it often. I am so sorry to hear about your parents dog.
Sometimes I find the best way to handle rough weeks is to spend the weekend doing stuff for myself and that could be as little as just sleeping in or eating from my favorite place. Even a visit to the starbucks to sit and people watch is helpful. It’s almost like a clean start for the next week.

I hope this week is better for you, Samantha! Happy Reading! xx (reading helps me too)

  2. Oh no Samantha! I am so sorry for your week! How do I handle them? Well with long walks outside, in the countryside and creating a “bubble” around me, just immersed in a good book to forget the hard world I am living in! let’s hope your week is far better!

  3. Oh I saw Peekaboo on Twitter and loved it! That cat looks pissed lol. But oh no- I’m sorry to hear about the awful week! I hope this one is better, and that your eye heals soon. Sounds painful. Hang in there! I hope you are able to get some “you” time and do something you enjoy.

  4. Oh Samantha, that sucks! I’m sorry to hear this.
I deal with the really crappy weeks by doing something that brings simplicity and joy. Sometimes, it’s locking the world out and mindlessly binge-watching something on Netflix, sometimes it’s curling up under my blanket and reading and sometimes it’s just by ignoring everything I can’t do anything about and just living in the moment. Like, ignoring all the problems and just cooking a meal or folding the laundry or taking a bath.

I hope this week is a bit better.

  5. 🙁 Sending you big hugs! I know, some weeks you feel like you should maybe just stay in bed and try again next week. So sorry about your family’s dog, that has to be heartbreaking. Our dog is such a big part of the family, it kills me to even imagine the day that she gets old or sick and can’t stay with us. I hope your able to have a bit of enjoyable time with y’all’s dog still without her/him suffering.

I hope your week this week makes up for the crap week you had and it’s all sunshine and rainbows 🙂

  6. Aww i’m so sorry that you had a rough week this week Samantha, usually when I’m stressed with things, turning to books usually helps, I hope things are better for you in the upcoming week!

  7. Oh Samantha you did have a bad week. I am sorry to hear about your parents dog and the week you had. Sometimes I read, have a bitch session with my boss. He is awesome for that a good listener and can make me laugh. Gotten close to a lot of clients from my work. Receptionist at a hair salon so when they are having a bad week I realize some have it worse than me or just to hear their happy times always put a smile on my face. Sometimes blogging helps me since that is my happy place and it is for me. I want all those puppies how sweet.

I have a review coming up soon for M.N. Forgy other Biker series. Hope you have a better week.
