Hey guys!! So, this post is a little personal 🙂 In case you missed it, JLA released Forever with You last week! I love this series and am thrilled to participate in the #ForeverMoments campaign! So, what is the #ForeverMoments campaign? I’m so glad you asked! The book series includes so many wonderful people and life events that are forever moments for the characters. Today, I am going to share a few of my favorite #ForeverMoments from my life!

My Wedding Day! April 18th, 2004
Place: Excalibur Hotel Chapel, Las Vegas Nevada

Yes, we got married in Vegas. No, it wasn’t a spur of the moment thing. I did NOT want an actual wedding. The thought of all those people watching me made me physically ill!!!! Thankfully, my husband and my family supported the idea! (and yes, my hair looks like that with no effort. You can hate me a little for it 🙂 )

We rescued our 1st dog and named her Calleigh
March 2010
We rescued our 2nd dog and named him Yoda

So, my husband and I don’t have kids. Calleigh and Yoda are our kids! Both are rescues and we are very passionate about rescuing animals and using positive training methods. Calleigh was 8 weeks old when we got her. Calleigh is a Canine Good Citizen certified dog and she has gone to work with me on occasion to help with my students. They love playing with her and she would lay on their laps while they did their work. Yoda was 2 when we rescued him and had not had a good life. He was scared of everything and very reactive. He was also 30 lbs underweight! Yoda is still not super fond of people or other dogs, but he has come a long way. I call him my grumpy old man-he is perfectly happy to spend the day on the couch barking at anyone who comes close to the front door!
PS-we name all our pets after characters in books, movies, or TV shows. Calleigh is from CSI Miami and Yoda is…well its obvious! I had a cat named Serena from Sailor Moon, and another cat named Abby from The Baby Sitters Club books. My brothers dog is named Leroy Jethro Gibbs (that his his full name!) and we call him Jethro.
