what i think

So, I decided to give audiobooks a go. Years ago, when I had a long commute, I listed to the Harry Potter books narrated by Jim Dale. They are perfection btw and a hard act to follow. Plus, while I can read sexy scenes, I didn’t want to listen to someone read them. I’m too prudish for that. So, I had to find something with perfect narrators, not overly descriptive sex, and a book I would want to hear. #Nerd is that book.

I read #Nerd when it was first released in 2014 and I was in LOVE. If you haven’t read the series, you need to. Its a bit of “She’s all that”, a bit of all those early 2000 movies staring Freddy Prince Jr; you know the ones I’m talking about. Romeo is the campus golden boy; Rimmel is a nobody. He falls for her and its all adorable. I really do love the story. So, how is it in audio? Pretty good!

I thought the 2 narrators did a good job overall. I was slightly annoyed at how nasal-y the female narrator got when speaking in Ivy’s voice. If she is the narrator for Ivy’s book, I wouldn’t be able to listen to it. I can’t imagine anyone keeping up that voice while they read 500 pages though. The guy who did romeo’s voice did well. It wasn’t exactly what I imagined in my head, but pretty close. I found myself totally getting sucked in and trying to find times to listen to it beyond just my commute time.

Cambria Hebert is a bestselling novelist of more than twenty books. She went to college for a bachelor’s degree, couldn’t pick a major, and ended up with a degree in cosmetology. So rest assured her characters will always have good hair. She currently resides in North Carolina.

Besides writing, Cambria loves a caramel latte, staying up late, sleeping in, and watching movies. She considers math human torture and has an irrational fear of chickens (yes, chickens). You can often find her running on the treadmill (she’d rather be eating a donut), painting her toenails (because she bites her fingernails), or walking her chorkie (the real boss of the house).

Cambria has written within the young adult and new adult genres, penning many paranormal and contemporary titles. Her favorite genre to read and write is romantic suspense. A few of her most recognized titles are: #Nerd, Text, Torch, Tryst, Masquerade, and Recalled.

Cambria Hebert owns and operates Cambria Hebert Books, LLC.

This book sounds adorable! And I had a lot of fun watching She’s all that back in the day. So I am definitely going to add this book to my tr-list! 🙂

    • I love the whole series! I read it awhile ago (before I started blogging) so listening to the audio gave me a chance to blog about the book again!
