Calleigh

On Thursday night, my dog Calleigh passed away. She was just over 15 years old. Her last year has been tough-she dislocated her hip, had a toe removed, and was struggling with pain from arthritis. We adopted Calleigh as a puppy in Raleigh, North Carolina. She has been my constant companion. She was literally my best friend. This has been such a painful time. I knew it was coming, but I knew I would never be ready. She died at home with me and my husband sitting at her side.

I’m very grateful for our other 3 dogs who have been cuddling non stop.

This was a stressful week even before that, and I think some of my stress and anxiety was amped up by Calleigh’s health. It was just a rocky week. Work was stressful, plus it was the week of Halloween. If you have every worked in a school, the week leading up to a major holiday is always a little crazy.

It was in the low 80’s this week. I am so over the heat. It’s November, it should be cold. Its suppose to be upper seventies this week. I’m not a fan.

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

I am crying. So sorry to hear about Calleigh, but 15 years! What a gift. Glad the family gave you cuddles and comfort.

  2. Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear about Calleigh! I’m so happy she got 15 years and that you got to be with her at those last moments. Our other dogs are so helpful in those situations. I know when I lost my Sydney, having my Dora helped so much. That makes for a very rough week. I’m behind on reading reviews and you have a few I still need to get around to checking! I hope this week is better for you.
