eARC thanks to the author:

It felt like fall this week and I loved it. Friday when I left work it was only 48 degrees out! I had to turn on the heat at home! Woohoo!!

My co-teacher drama continues. This week, her daughter decided to bring friends to hang out with her after school. So, from 2:20 on, my classroom is filled with 8-10 loud high schoolers (mostly boys). I obviously can’t stay and get any work done in that environment, so I pack up and leave. Well, I forgot my iPad and walked back only to find one of the boys sitting at my desk, getting candy from my prize stash! I was shocked. Then I was PISSED. But, even after mentioning to my co-teacher that it was loud and inappropriate for a kid to be anywhere near my desk, they all returned the next day and shut the door to our room with me standing right outside it. I just wanted to cry because I am so frustrated and there is seemingly nothing I can do about it!

I had to film myself giving a cognitive achievement test this week too. So awkward!! I knew I made some mistakes too. But, thankfully I still got an 87%. I have to video myself 3 more times giving cognitive assessments and 3 more times doing counseling sessions. I hate seeing myself on screen so I never watch them to ensure its ok. I still have an A in all 5 of my classes and that is pretty amazing.

I can’t believe it’s the end of October already. November, December, January are my favorite months so I am excited.

Oh, and I bought myself a present!!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Your co-teacher is inconsiderate and those kids are little punks. If you already tried talking to her, I would go above her. Can you lock you desk too? Yeah, few days of fall here, but it’s going to be 78 tomorrow. WTH! Filmed, huh? That can be stressful. Good luck with all that and enjoy your beautiful new Coach bag.

  2. You are doing amazing! I am sorry your co-teacher is being so much trouble. Do you have anywhere you can lock things? I’d be tempted to disappear some of her things and when she can’t find them say well those kids are always in here after school going through our desks……. I don’t know if I could do it though. I’m also loving that fall weather! Lulu and I are starting to walk daily now to her delight.

    • I think I’m going to keep stuff in the classroom next door. The teachers are well aware of what is going on and willing to store whatever I need. I just don’t want these kids to keep eating the things I keep for my students (who often don’t have food to eat!).

  3. Honestly can’t you sucker punch your co teacher Samantha??? It’s unbelievable hown people can be so disrespectful!!! And I think Anne’s idea might be brill 🙂

    • I have repeatedly said I want to throat punch her. Sadly there is no where in my room I can lock up, so I have to either come up with another place to keep things, or choose violence.

  4. How very inconsiderate of your co-teacher! Very disrespectful too. I read Anne’s comment and laughed. I’d love to do as she suggested, but I probably wouldn’t either, but it’s fun to imagine. Hopefully administration will step in.

  5. No way! I can’t believe the other teacher allows that and doesn’t see what a terrible imposition it is! And for the kids to close the door, help themselves to your things? Absolutely not. Ugh.
Nice on the Coach bag! I used to be so addicted to Coach bags. My closet is full of them and I almost never carry them. I should probably just sell them.
