Hello again, Disciples! Kim at Kimberly Faye Reads started a #TBRThursday on Instagram and I love the idea. So, I am posting on the blog and IG to get your input on which book I should read! So, give me your thoughts on my two TBR picks in the comments and help me decide what to read next. Bonus: Both of them are part of my #SlayThoseSeries2018 challenge!
Book 1: Hidden Away by Maya Banks
A man who shoots first and asks questions later falls for the ultimate moving target in this sexy, action-packed KGI novel.
The Kelly Group International (KGI): A super-elite, top secret, family-run business.
Qualifications: High intelligence, rock-hard body, military background.
Mission: Hostage/kidnap victim recovery. Intelligence gathering. Handling jobs the U.S. government can’t…
Most people would take an all-expenses-paid trip to the beach in a heartbeat, but Garrett Kelly only accepts the job keeping tabs on Sarah Daniels—who’s in hiding after witnessing a murder committed by her half-brother—for the chance to take down a person enemy of KGI.
A disciplined soldier like Garrett is trained for so much more than a babysitting gig, but he soon realizes that there’s more to Sarah than what’s in her file. Garrett is considering seduction as a tactical maneuver, but when he glimpses Sarah’s dark past, he feels an urgent desire to keep her safe—even after she disappears on him. Garrett doesn’t know exactly who, or what, Sarah’s running from. Whatever it is, she’s running for her life…
Book 2: Up In Smoke by Tessa Bailey
Connor Bannon is supposed to be dead. Dishonorably discharged from the Navy SEALs, he’s spent the last two years working as a street enforcer in Brooklyn for his cousin’s crime ring. Through a twist of fate, he’s now in Chicago, working undercover to bust criminals. But when a cute little arsonist joins the team-all combat boots, tiny jean shorts, and hot-pink hair-Connor’s notorious iron control slips.
Erin “she’s getting away” O’Dea knows two things. She hates authority. And… Nope, that’s it. When she’s forced to operate on the “right” side of the law, her fear of being confined and controlled blazes to the surface. The last thing she expects is a control freak like Connor to soothe her when she needs it most. Worse, something behind the sexy ex-soldier’s eyes ignites a dangerous inferno of desire. One that invites Erin to play with fire. And one that could get them both killed…
Each book in the Crossing the Lines series is a standalone, full-length story that can be enjoyed out of order.
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
I voted for Banks. I hope you’ll love whichever book is chosen, Samantha! 🙂
I voted for the Maya Banks. I’ve only read her historicals and am curious if her contemps are as filled with angst and drama. Happy reading, Samantha!
I haven’t heard of either of these, so I’m not sure which one to choose! I love that you let other people decide for you. Maybe that’s what I’ll do whenever I can’t figure out what to read next. Good luck with whatever wins!
Lindsi @ Do You Dog-ear?
I am not a fan of banks’ CR ( I only like her HR) but I do like Tessa Bailey….so I voted for Up In Smoke.
These are both not first in the series and I wasn’t sure if you’d read earlier books, but these 2 were the options you gave us. I chose Up in Smoke, it seemed more undercover. Anne – Books of My Heart
I’ve read several by Maya Banks in the past and enjoyed them so I went with her. Hope you’ll love whichever one you pick!
