This Week’s Book Haul:
Non-Bookish News:
Oh my gosh this week was brutal! I had to work late every single day. Tuesday we had a department chair meeting, Wednesday I was holding interviews for my paraprofessional, Thursday I had an impromptu chat with my principal that ran long, then Friday I had to have an emergency meeting with a parent regarding assessment results. I am very glad I only have to work 2 days this week.
My husband and a few of his friends went camping this weekend so its been me and the dogs hanging out at home. We napped and snacked and napped and snacked. It was pretty awesome. I never lived alone-I lived with my parents, then in a dorm, then with roommates, then with my husband-but I actually don’t mind being by myself. I probably would be more uncomfortable if I didn’t have the dogs though. They would let me know if anything was wrong or there was someone around the house.
I’m pumped for Thanksgiving! I love Thanksgiving food-turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy. My obsessions with gravy has no bounds! I love the stuff. I do have to find gluten free everything though, but its not as hard now as it was years ago. What is your favorite Thanksgiving food?
Anybody got their eye on any Black Friday deals? I am a strictly internet shopper these days. I did the crazy Black Friday thing in college and NO THANKS! Its nuts!
My amazing friend got tickets to Hamilton in March. I couldn’t believe she was able to get them! I’m really excited to see the show because everyone raves about it! Have you seen it?
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

I am looking forward to that Thanksgiving break myself. It’s been a long quarter. But man, your week sounds like it was tiring. I can’t believe you had to stay late so much. I hope you get some rest during the break. And Hamilton! That sounds like it could be a lot of fun.
Happy reading and take care!
*ugh* your week does not sound like a lot of fun, Samantha! Late every day – good thing you only have two days of work, then off for lots of fantastic food, good company, books, and relaxation.
Your new books look awesome, I have to double check if I’ve read the Zanetti one – I love her π
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.
Your week just made me tired! π I hope your short week is not to crazy and your days off are awesome! π
These holidays are my favorite to spend with family. I am looking forward to the Stuffed Artichokes (I make them) they are so good lol. My daughter is a huge fan of gravy, I think her blood might have been replaced with it.
I have to remember to Grab the RH book.
Have a great week, Samantha! Happy Reading! π
Yay for gravy!!!!
Hahaha Samantha yes I can imagine being alone with the dogs is bliss! Now we don’t have Thanksgiving in my country, only Christmas but my favorite food on that day is turkey π And yes I have my eyes on some book candles or book sales for Black Friday! Happy Sunday.
I like having time by myself so I would love napping and snacking! Thanksgiving food is my favorite. I have too many dishes I love to pick a favorite. I do love green bean casserole and stuffing with gravy though. Now I am getting hungry just typing it! I have most of my shopping all done already. I might pick up a few things online if the deals are good. Yay for Hamilton. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!
Wow. You were busy! I bet the quiet weekend was awesome. I’m excited for a short work week coming up and plan to spend the four days off relaxing and eating, a bunch. LOL I’m craving some fried turkey!
I haven’t seen Hamilton, but I’ve also heard it was amazing. Hope you get some rest after that brutal work week!
I read Forgotten Sins a long time ago and I think I enjoyed it, lol. Happy reading and enjoy your time off! π
WOW Hamilton that will be fun. I’d love to see Hamilton. I’ve heard it’s good. I hope you guys have fun. Black Friday…. I have never done Black Friday. I use to do all my shopping before the holiday, but now with the internet I can shop that way and that’s how I do it. I try very hard to avoid the stores during Nov. and Dec. It’s just crazy. This last week we have been coupled up side because of the very bad air quality in San Fransisco and surrounding cities. The fire in Butte County is affect us and my son didn’t have school on Friday, but it looks like they are going to be going Monday. Everyone in the house is going stere crazy. I try to get out and walk the dog, but this last week was a no go with the AQ. Hopeful we will get some rain or wind the moves it out of the area. As for Butte County and Paradise, it’s so tragic what has happened. Love your book haul. I hope you enjoy the books. Have a great week and Happy Thanksgiving!
You deserve the short week after the week you had. I feel like a buzzkill, because Thanksgiving is a fine eating holiday, but it’s not my favorite. I do love to see what new things my daughter will find to make for us though. I hope you have an amazing Thanksgiving and that everything tastes extra delicious.
Well yeah for a more relaxed week ahead. I’m looking forward to it also and we are just staying home. I enjoy time home alone too. We will be having our first GF Thanksgiving. It wouldn’t be easy at some relatives’ home which is part of why we are not going, but it’s easy for us. I’ sorry to report none of us like gravy so we won’t have to figure that out. My daughter doesn’t like mashed potatoes either, so we will have sweet potatoes and either green beans or spinach. We like green veggies, the relatives not so much. Instead of pie, I might make apple crisp. I just got apples in the farm box. I look forward to the nothing scheduled days where I can read, relax figure things out. My daughter wants to play board games and I’ll enjoy that too. Anne – Books of My Heart
Spending the weekend napping and snacking sounds like heaven!
I’m excited for Thanksgiving too- all the food lol. I think stuffing (with gravy on it of course) is my favorite. π
Congrats on going to Hamilton! Yay!!!
Have a super Thanksgiving!
Wow, you sure had a busy week. I hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving!
You’ve been busy, Samantha! I’m with you on the short week, this week. I can’t wait to stuff my face on Thursday, haha. It’s going to be great! I hope you have a great Thanksgiving with the family, Sam!
My favorite Thanksgiving food would have to be the side dishes. π
I’m more of an online shopper too; I can’t stand crowds.
