Dangerous Dreams is a rerelease of a previous Abbie Roads book, Race the Darkness. I didn’t know that when I picked it up initially, but I kept thinking “wow, this is just like another book of hers…” and I was right! I did really enjoy Race the Darkness. I don’t know that anything has really been changed-it has been a while since I read it.

The story has a dark vibe, both in its content and its tone. There is also a bit of paranormal since Xander gets his powers after being struck by lightning. Isleen is in a horrible situation and she dreams of Xander. Once he rescues her, they are determined to stick together. But, since nothing in their life has been easy, life after being rescued isn’t easy either. There is plenty of nail biting suspense in this one. Readers who aren’t afraid of some darker themes (thrillers) but still want romance will enjoy Dangerous Dream.
