Non-Bookish News:

My reading funk has reached epic proportions. I haven’t read a single page in close to 2 weeks. 2 weeks!!! Work has been super stressful, which doesn’t help. Also my OCD behaviors are getting a bit worse. So, I am chalking the reading funk to that.

I have been binging The Office. I never watched it when it was on, but lots of people loved it so I thought I’d give it a shot. I’m loving it! Its seriously so funny in like a weird, awkward way at times. I love Jim and Pam of course, but seriously the rest of the cast is hilarious! Stanley has that “I’m not joking” face that is hilarious, Dwight is crazy, and Kevin is just funny.

One more week until Christmas break!! My students have exams Thursday and Friday which makes everyone stressed-the kids know they are 20% of their semester grade and they feel like there is SO MUCH they need to study. It gets overwhelming and they just end up giving up! Its a struggle of a week but thankfully when its over, we get two weeks off.

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. In general, I wasn’t that happy with the GR award nominees, but a book based on a screenplay won the YA category. Nope. Sorry you are in a slump and your OCD is escalating. I hope the break will give you time to rest and relax and get things to a manageable place.

  2. Can you believe we are down to less than two weeks of the month? Where has ALL the time gone?? How is 2019 almost oveR??!! I hear ya on the reading funk, I have been in one for much of the year (but I think much of that is due to my podcast stuff which has distracted me but now things are calming down and hopefully readiing will get back to what it was) I am loving the Romanceopoly reading challenge—it is the most fun of all challenges. Especially since most ppl love the game monopoly. The Goodreads Choice….EH!! Wasn’t impressed to be honest, I never really am impressed by it. Which is why I do my own every year.

Hope you get back into reading soon and enjoyed your weekend.

  3. Maybe the break will give you that push to read again. Don’t stress so much, reading is suppose to be fun, if you can’t maybe taking a break is a good idea and when you get back to it you will remember why you love reading. Has happened to me a lot.
I hope you enjoy your break, I wasn’t able to get off as long as I wanted since I don’t have extra days. 🙁 so my time off is really just filled with busy stuff. Oh Well.

Have a great week, Samantha! Happy Reading! xx

  4. I’ve heard so many good things about the Office! I’ve never seen it either.

I’ve hardly been reading either, I think it’s the holiday bustle. But then I’ve been in an on-again, off-again slump since before thanksgiving lol.

Good luck to the students on their exams!

  5. Yay on almost making it to break! Do you get 2 weeks off? I know after the stress of the last week, you’ll need it! I’m sorry your OCD and stress has kept you from enjoying reading 😔. At least you’re doing so good TV binge watching. I need to try the office, everyone seems to enjoy it.

Good luck this week! Have a great one!
