This Week’s New Releases:
What I Found Online:
- Bookstr has “Eleven of the most beautiful and awesome book covers” and I certainly disagree with some of their picks (The Great Gatsby? I hate that cover!)
- Bookish gives us “10 things bookworms are actually afraid of” and I would like to add “dying before a series is finished and never knowing what happens”. This was a legit fear of mine until the final Harry Potter book was released. What fear would you add to the list?
This Week’s Book Haul:
Non-Bookish News:
I may have gone a TAD overboard with ARCs this week….
But, in awesome news, the 90 degree weather finally broke and Friday it was 71 degrees! Yay!
Friday was a special day at work. I teach in a Catholic High School and we are sponsored by the Franciscans. Friday was the Feast of St. Francis (our patron saint). Its a very important day for Franciscans and a very joyous one as well!
Other than the crazy heat, not much happened this week. I’ve been busy with work-as we get close to the quarter ending there is always lots to do!
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!
I’m with you regarding those “amazing, beautiful” book covers as they are all very much of a type. Clearly one person’s particular taste runs through the whole list… I LOVED the list of bookworm fears – they nailed the one I’m afraid of, given I’m of a certain age… that I won’t live long enough to read all the truly fabulous books on my teetering TBR pile, which never seems to shrink anyway. Have a great week – and I hope it continues to be cooler!
I was happy to come back from my trip to legit fall weather. Let’s enjoy it, before it gets too cold. Everyone had Moonlighter, and I cannot wait to hear everyone’s thoughts. It sounds so good.
I’m a huge Sarina Bowen fan girl so I was NOT going to pass it up!
That’s a lot of ARCs! I hope I start Moonlighter this week!! Glad the heat has gone down! I can’t wait to get Down Too Deep and The Play!
We’ve finally had a break in temps at home, thank goodness, but it’s even colder where I’m on vacation (very northern California) and I’m loving the weather.
I’ve got The Widow of Rose House coming up this week too. I’m currently reading and loving it. Hope you enjoy it too, Samantha! 🙂
Bwahahaha samantha I thought exactly the same thing about dying before a series ended many times!!!!
Oh I’m glad its not just me!!!
I was so happy to have 70s again, finally. I have also thought about dying before the next book was released. Enjoy your new reads and enjoy the nice cooler week!
Anne – Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
Yay for the temperatures finally breaking for you! I’m sure that improved your work days quite a bit 🙂 So I disagree with almost ALL The book covers they chose for that post. Seriously, that was the best they could do with all the amazing covers out there? I do agree with the things bookworms fear though – the lost bookmark is especially scary for me because it happens to me a lot! I would add, not me dying before the end of a series, but the author dying before the end!!
Have a great week 🙂
I agree-those book covers were just blah. All the books in all the world and THOSE were the best covers?!
That’s great the heat broke for you. It was nice week for use too with weather in the 70’s. Great book haul. I hope you enjoy!
Hooray for fall temps! And color me jealous! 🙂 It was about 85 here today. Better than 95 but still… ugh. How exciting that you got Moonlighter! As much as I love Sarina Bowen, I’’m trying to request fewer and fewer arcs. I’m trying hard to concentrate on all the backlist books on my shelves and Kindle that I want to read. It’s hard not to be enticed by all the new pretties, though!
I was SO over the stupid heat. It was getting annoying! Actually, it was record setting hot for October.
Everyone is talking about cooler weather and I’m just down here sweating in Florida! XD I’m glad you had a nice week though! Good luck with all the ARCs!
I hope all the ARCs are good, I’m curious about The Holdout.
Wishing you a great reading week
