Non-Bookish News:

My doctors appointment went well. He took the packing out (which made me super sick by the way-apparently the change in pressure it creates can make you sick and it totally made me sick). There is still some dissolvable packing behind the ear drum that will dissolve within a week. In 3 months I go back for a hearing check. So, right now, still no hearing. My anxiety brain is repeatedly telling me that I will never hear again. But, I have to keep reminding myself that I had a serious surgery and healing takes time. Some days I good at forgetting about the anxiety. Other days, not so much. But, the important message is that the doctor says the eardrum looks good. At this stage, it’s still a bit swollen, but as it heals, my hearing should return. He did say I could resume use of my hearing aids. I tried on Monday but it kind of hurt a bit. I think I’m going to have to get new/different domes.

The best part of the doctor appointment day was having lunch with my dad afterward! We went to the Cheesecake Factory. They have a gluten free Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake that was amazing. Its always good to sit and chat with my dad. I love our lunches together.

The heat broke and we had a gorgeous week! It was in the 70’s and 80’s all week. It’s been wonderful. The dogs and I have enjoyed lots of time outside.

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I honestly can’t wait for Brazen and the Beast!!! The audio better be worth the wait!! LOL

Honestly, I LOVE The Cheesecake Factory and its always a treat to go there right?

The weather has cooled down a bit for us this week too….so nice.

  2. Glad to hear your dr. appt went well, and I can totally understand why you’d still have anxiety with the healing still progress. Not knowing is stressful, but your dr. says things look good so that’s something to hang onto. Oh, 70s and 80s sounds lovely! Glad to hear you’re having such nice weather while your off. I want to read Million Dollar Marriage soon. Glad to see you enjoyed it! 🙂

  3. Haha love that signs one! I’m Aries and yup I’ve done that- read the end first! Although I try not to do that anymore lol.

Wow that does sound uncomfortable! I hope your hearing comes back soon and is perfect! I can totally get why you’d be anxious though- I would be too. I’ve had vertigo before and the change in pressure can really mess us up! I hope you have smooth sailing with it going forward.

  4. I’ve totally given a 5 star rating, lol. (Although I do appreciate the sentiment as we’re a temperamental bunch!)

Glad you got the packing out. I’ll keep my fingers crossed the hearing returns sooner than later!
The cheesecake factory is on my list of places to try on the US and has been since the big bang theory but I haven’t come across one yet on my travels…

    • I love the cheesecake factory! Its kind of pricey so I don’t go often. Plus, the cheesecake is probably more calories than a person should have in a day!

  5. I really hope your anxiety eases up on you soon. I’m really sorry you are going through that! It’s the worst because we honestly cannot control what our anxieties do. Regardless, you’re doing well and remind yourself that you are doing what you can to cope with it and the healing time from your surgery! You’ve got this. Woo, time to catch up on your reviews!

  6. Hi Sam, I’m so happy that you dr. appointment went well. I’m sure your body just needs the time to heal, it’s hard to deal with anxiety especially after surgery but you can do it! Stay strong and think positive. I’m sure your hearing will be back soon. <3
