This Week’s Book Haul:
Non-Bookish News:
So last week was “Hell Week” aka Homecoming week. We all made it out alive but I had totally lost my voice by Thursday and was too sick to go in on Friday (which wasn’t a big deal since it was an early release day). Overall, it wasn’t too terrible of a week (FYI it was also a full moon. So picture this: each day is a crazy outfit day, its the last week of the quarter, and a full moon. Its like a teachers worse nightmare). The stress level was high but its over now and I have a year before it happens again 🙂 Some of my kids did come up with some cute outfits. A bunch of my boys dressed as VSCO girls (they had tried to explain them to earlier in the year because I had never heard the term) and it was hilarious! They borrowed shorts and scrunchies from their sisters and wrote “Hydro Flask” on their water bottles. It was my favorite. My teammates and I dressed as our hogwarts house (there are 4 of us and each of us is a different house-I made them take the “Which Hogwart’s house are you?” quiz once). FYI: I’m so totally Ravenclaw.
I have my final followup and hearing test tomorrow after my surgery. I don’t think I have had any improvement, so I am interested in seeing what my surgeon suggests as a next step.
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!
Sorry you’ve been sick, too Samantha! I hope you’re feeling better now.
Every single day for a week with students and teachers dressing up? We have a single day in December, and that’s truly more than enough for me 🙂
Your new books look really good! I hope you’ll enjoy them.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.
Yes a whole week of crazy outfits. And a full moon. And the end of the quarter so kids were scrambling to get late assignments turned in. That’s why I call it Hell Week!
Good luck tomorrow at the follow-up appt. Bummer about getting sick but the week sounds like it was a lot of fun!
I have no idea what VSCO girls are, but that’s what happens when you don’t have any kids in middle/high school anymore. I have a grandchild in preschool, so I’m sure someday I’ll hip again when he decides to enlighten grandma, lol! I can tell you all about Paw Patrol, though, haha!
Glad to hear you survived and good luck with your next doctor’s appt. Sorry to hear you haven’t had any improvements going through all of that, but I hope he has some good ideas.
OH I had no idea what a vsco girl was. They have been trying to explain it all year. Apparently, its a girl who loves scrunchies, sweatshirts, gym shorts, and reusable water bottles. Honestly, I think its the young version of basic white girl!
Thank goodness Hell Week is now behind you – it sounds like a terrible idea! Though I’m glad some of the outfits were amusing. I hope you soon feel better. Have a more peaceful week!
Yes, at least I was able to laugh at some of my 6 foot 2 football player students wearing onesie or dressed like a penguin. Or a 70’s gym teacher.
WOW what a week. You survived and at least the sickness arrived at the end of the week. ^_^ Hope you are feeling better.
Have a great week and happy reading!
Thanks!
Yay for survival. That was my strategy this week. I’m feeling under the weather, just tired. I hope you feel much better this week and get some good feedback from the surgeon. Happy reading!
Thanks!
A full moon plus all that DOES sound crazy haha! I’m glad you survived. And good luck with your hearing- I hope they have a solution or some good ideas when you go in.
Those outfits do sound fun haha!
Bwahaha the way you say it Samantha it’s like teenagers turned into werewolves once the moon was full! I am a fellow Ravenclaw!!! Good luck now with your hearing!
You know I just googled VSCO girls, right? I found a whole article on it. Glad you made it through spirit week, even if you missed the last day. Good job! I hope your doctor’s appointment brings you good news. Finger crossed! Thanks for sharing my post. XOXO
I hope things go well at the follow up appointment. And wow, what a crazy week.
I’m glad you made it through Hell week!
I hope your surgeon has good news for you at your appointment
Wishing you a great reading week
Yay, I’m glad you survived! though it sounds like you weren’t entirely unscathed, if you were so sick you had to take friday off! Love the hogwarts houses plan – I am also a ravenclaw 🙂
Hope this week is going well – i’m sure it’s better than last week!!!
