We had a snow day Friday! It was GREAT! This week was rough. There was a fight every day. I mean, kids physically fighting (slamming heads into cafeteria tables, punches in the bathroom, etc). I don’t know if it’s the pandemic or just the world today, but these kids do not think twice about using physical violence to solve problems. It is their go to response to every issue, even minor ones.
I was able to get into an eye doctor on Tuesday! She quickly identified the problem as an inflamed follicle that caused an eye lash to grow inward instead of outward. She plucked it out and gave me some anti-inflammatory drops and I was all better! Glad it was such an easy fix-I was getting super worried.
I start the next trimester of university tomorrow. I have 5 classes again. But, I’m gonna be done and ready for internship by this summer! I just have to keep reminding myself that it is worth it and that I won’t have to teach any more after this school year.
My site is sort of broken right now. First, I couldn’t access anything. I contacted my host administrator and she told me what to do. So I got the page working again, but most of the behind the scene stuff doesn’t work. For example, I cant edit any of my pages. I click on them from the WP admin side and nothing. My host is trying to figure out why, but so far, no luck. I’m not sure what to do at this point because its managed hosting. I wanted that specifically for this purpose.

Damn Samantha! Even if managed hosting can’t help you what’s the point??? I am self hosting and as you’ve seen I had tons of problems. Also I am glad it was an easy fix for your eyes.
I’m sorry about the fighting. It feels like that is everyone since Trump thinks bullying and fighting is great. I think kindness is the answer. I am so so glad the eye fix was relatively simple. Yes you just need to work through this semester and then you can move forward. Good Luck!

OH, NO! Sorry to hear you are experiencing technical difficulties. I hope your host can figure it out quickly. Good luck with your last trimester. Five classes, wow! I will be rooting for you. There were always physical altercations when I was teaching, but I can only imagine how much more challenging it is now with covid and the social climate. Great news about your eye. Thank goodness it was a pretty simple fix.
This is the second site today I’ve seen that had issues. Makes me happy to still have my clunky Blogger site.

Hooray for the snow day! OMG the fighting… that’s awful. I remember random fights at school when I was a kid but it was always infrequent enough that it was surprising when it happened. So glad the eye issue was resolved! What a relief. I’m excited for The Best Men. I listened to the prequel this week and it was so much fun.
oh no that is the worst that you are dealing with hosting issues. I can see the appeal of managed hosting but it definitely has its pros and cons. I hope that you get it all figured out soon.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve had a rough week. That does sound crazy, we never had that level of violence in school but you might be right the pandemic having an impact. I know plenty of adults who have forgotten how to interact with people too. And an ingrown eye lash? Who knew something so simple could cause such trouble? I’m glad it was an easy fix. You’ve had a right week of it with site trouble too. I hope you manage to sort it soon.
