Saturday is leap day! Enjoy your extra day by doing whatever you want!

I had an interview on Friday. I didn’t think it went well, but it must have been okay because they asked me back for a second interview! I have to prepare a 20 min mock PD session. I think this is actually easier than teaching a lesson (which is always awkward and disingenuous) and I have done a few PD sessions for staff before. Wish me luck!

I have my final interview with another school tomorrow. It’s an all day interview. ALL DAY. 7:45-3:45. Throughout the day I will meet with each grade level team (6th, 7th, and 8th), multiple administrators, observe a class, have lunch with students, and meet with more people. Its a little (okay, a LOT) overwhelming but I’m hoping as the day goes on I get more comfortable.

Last week was better at work. Things have settled a bit with my replacement. There were no harsh comments this week and I appreciate that. The other person that has been offered a position is trying to schedule a time to come observe. We have reached the time of year that things start to get busy-we will have state testing coming up, lots of IEPs and ETRs, and just the general rush of nearing the end of the school year. Also, our Spring Break isn’t until the middle of April. So far away…

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Crossing my fingers ‘and toes) for you tomorrow Samantha!!!! Let’s hope you’ll nail it but I guess that by the end of the day you’ll be drained!

  2. That is an interesting interview there. I have done the demo lessons, with and without kids, and they are the worst! At least presenting to sort of your peers gives a real measure of success. Good luck! Wow! An all day interview. That’s a lot. I am confident you will win them over! Good luck!

  3. Wow and all day interview?! I hope you get the position best for you. Good luck!

I’m probably going to break down and buy Chasing Cassandra. Got rejected for an ARC copy and the wait time at my library is 6 months! I loved Unforgiven, and I can’t wait for the next story with Shot! 🙂

  4. oh WOW that is such a LONG interview…..hope it all goes well for you. And Happy Leap Day!! I am glad to see some great authors on your ARC list. Mimi Jean Pamfiloff is fabulous so I hope you enjoy that one. I still need to pick up A.L. Jackson

Hope you have a great Sunday!!

    • I’ve never read Mimi Jean Pamfiloff before so I’m excited to read this one! And yes, a whole day long interview is nuts. I’ve never had an interview longer than an hour or so.

  5. Good luck with the interviews! That all day one- yikes. I would totally dread that lol. Although I’m sure it will go fine for you. the anticipation is always the worst, at least for me haha with something like that.

That Bored Teachers video was awesome. “You got 24 hours until it sneaks right into you” oh my gosh that cracked me up. 🙂 Oh and then at the end when she was like- “How was yours?”

    Too funny.
