Happy Father’s day to those who celebrate! Happy Juneteenth as well!

It was crazy hot here this past week. Each day was close to 100 degrees, and the heat index was over 110. But, this weekend its back to the 80’s so I’m enjoying it while I can. Next week the heat returns with a vengence.

I finished my finals for spring quarter. One more quarter of classes (this summer; starts June 27th) and then I’m done with classes! Hooray!! I booked my flight for our 3 days in Washington for training. Flights are SO much more expensive this year than last year. I paid almost double what I did for the same trip last year. But, 2 other girls in my cohort and I decided to get an AirBnB instead of staying in the hotel and I am so excited!! Its crazy how close you can get with people you only see via the internet in Zoom classes, but I just adore these 2 ladies!

Things are going well with the puppy. Training a puppy is tough and time consuming for sure! And, like a baby, he fights sleep and gets super cranky. We put him in his crate at 8:00 pm for bed and starting at about 6:00 he gets the zoomies, starting chewing on everything (including us), and being a general terror. The he passes out for a bit and sleeps until about 7:30. We are really working on potty training. He is pretty good about it, but he just pees so much all day long. Its like every 20 min.

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Oh wow yeah puppy training is rough for sure. So I hope it gets better for you, get lots of chewing toys!! It looks like you binged the Fever series. Happy Father Days and Juneteenth!!

It looks like you received some great books, I really am looking forward to reading the new Brian Feehan one.

  2. Samantha, I’m so glad your classes are going well and you will be finished soon. I’m still not up for airplanes although I love to fly. Yeah, we are only rescuing adult dogs, puppy training is beyond my energy level. Good for you handling it. You also got lots of ARCs. Enjoy!

    • Yeah, Its not travel by choice. I have to go to Washington for a grad school requirement. I’m not thrilled about flying either, especially now that masks are optional.

  3. We were in the mid 90s with no humidity to speak of over the weekend and it was still miserable. The AC in our RV just couldn’t keep up and I only had the thermostat set at 84. The insulation in these things is pretty terrible. Oh well. The trade-offs we make for a life of travel!

My sister tries to visit us wherever we go with my husband’s job. She wasn’t sure she was going to be able to swing airfare to Montana. She did buy her ticket but I’m sure prices have only gone up since then.

How fun to spend time with your Zoom/class buddies!

    Enjoy your week!

  4. Oh boy, send those 80’s temps my way, please! It’s been so miserable here. It was even to hot to go to the pool.I hear you on the airfares. I was booking some travel for work and the rates were way higher than even just a few months ago. JLaw answering those questions was hilarious. Love her.
