Teaching in May is no joke. Last week was survival of the fittest for everyone. The kids are nuts, the teachers barely have control, and everyone is exhausted and cranky. However, I really like my students this year so spending time just playing games and such has been mostly enjoyable. Also, I am making them move my stuff to my new room. Winning!
Survival has been the theme, so it has left me no reading energy. I have been listening to a lot of books since that doesn’t require me to use my eyes!
Speaking of eyes, I had an eye doctor appointment Thursday. My prescription changed a bit-which explains why I felt like I wasn’t seeing great. We are also switching to 1 day contacts since I prefer not to wear them as often. Hopefully now that masks have gone away for vaccinated people I can go back to glasses. I’m not really a fan of contacts.
I have a sinus infection. It started Friday and I felt miserable. I couldn’t even stand the pressure of the mask on my face. It was awful. I’m hoping its better soon because trying to survive the last 3 days of teaching and being sick is just unfair.
Also, I found out that next year I am moving to 6th grade! I’m very excited about it because I love the 6th grade team. So yay!!
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

Looks like things are working out for you – yeah! Glad to see you so excited about your assignment for next year, and I hope the last three days of school go quickly.
I am sorry that you have a sinus infection Samantha! But …only three more days and you’ll be on holiday! 🙂
I’m glad you are having some good news at your school to survive the year end. Enjoy the summer holiday!

Yay for good move! and even better that you can put the kids to work moving stuff. I always enjoyed putting my kids to work cleaning up the room at the end of the school year.
