Welcome to this week’s Sunday Post. This feature is brought to you by The Caffeinated Book Reviewer, so swing by after you are done here and get the full list of participants!

Who knows! I might not get anything up!

If you work in a school, you understand.

eARC thanks to the authors and publishers:

I had a busy week. I didn’t get any of the blogging done I had planned. But, I put together a file cabinet by myself! My office is now complete. It is SMALL and an 8th grader suggested I ask for a bigger space. He was like “Um, you should tell them you need more space. This is disrespectful.”. I love middle schoolers. But, I finally got a key card to get into the building! Now if we could just get the wifi to work.

Friday night we went out with friends for a birthday celebration. I was exhausted! They live an hour a way, so we drove up there for dinner, then they wanted to go out for drinks. It was a reminder that I am too old to work all day then go out until 11 pm.

Going back to work always cuts into my reading because I am exhausted when I get home. It usually takes a few weeks to get back into the swing of things before I stop falling asleep at 7 pm.

September arrived in Ohio with 90 degree weather. We had a really nice week of upper 70’s low 80’s and then Friday it got HOT. And its suppose to stay hot for at least the next 10 days. Its pretty typical for Ohio, but I am just so done with the heat. SO DONE.

Another week without an escape by the dogs. However, this morning Sammy found a dead rabbit and ran all around the yard with it as I tried to get him to come inside. At least we stayed in the yard.

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I hope this week is the end of the 90s. Next weekend looks like some rain and mid 80s. You can just stay inside and get settled into your school routine. I just stay inside and read. I really want to plant my fall garden but it’s too hot to go out and work like that. I disturbed 2 baby bunnies when mowing and Lulu didn’t even chase them. She just went to look at them. She does chase squirrels though.

  2. I’ m impressed that you got your filing cabinet assembled! And yes… at the beginning of the year, it’s always hugely busy with LOADS of tasks that allll need doing at once! And hot weather on top of that… I hope the coming week is cooler than forecast and that it is a LOT less hectic!

  3. I miss middle schoolers. High schoolers are okay, but sometimes too cool. lol Glad you have an office though! It was crazy at school, but not kids crazy, just the tech crazy for us. And miserable hot too. Here’s hoping we both have better temps this week and have more time to read!

  4. I hope the cooler weather comes your way sooner than predicted. Hopefully the school has air conditioning. It’s supposed to start getting warmer here soon enough. A local middle schooler died a week ago during our recent heat wave during a physical ed class. It is so tragic. I don’t know the whole story but the media is saying he was having to run laps in 106 degree weather and was denied water. The heat is no joke. I am going to have to check out Witches Get Stuff Done. I think I would like that one! I hope you have a great week!

  5. I love the kid who said the small office was disrespectful. You tell ’em, kid. 🙂 Oh yeah, no late nights out for me. I’d be useless the next day. We are both so over the heat! I am desperate for cooler temps.
